As the high voltage windings are totally casted, the
cast resin transformers are totaly screened out against
moisture, dust and industrial waste due to heavily polluted
environment. This is why they do not require to be installed
in any airconditioned premises and are maintenance-free.
Suitable industrial applications: rolling mills, foundries,
refineries, offshore platforms, mines, undergrounds etc...
Due to the flame-resistant and self-extinguishing materials
used, cast resin transformers are particularly suitable
also for special applications like: hospitals, clinics, banks,
commercial buildings, supermarkets, nuclear plants,
skyscrapers and high ecological environments, etc...

Magnetic core
The magnetic core is manufactured with grain oriented low-losses laminations,
insulated with carlyte, mitred type or step-lap, in order to considerably reduce the
sound level and the noload losses. It is clamped by steel yokes hot zinc coated and
treated in order to guarantee high sturdiness and stability during movements or in
case of to the short-circuit stresses.
Low voltage windings
The L.V. windings consist of electrolytic aluminium foils, insulated by pre preg
material, impregnated with “H“ class epoxy resin and heat treated in an oven to
form a compact unit with sufficient strength to withstand short-circuit forces in the
transformer. The L.V. terminals are produced with aluminium bars through automatic
welding and fixed to the upper yoke clamping frame by suitable spacers. On request
it is possible to manufacture copper windings or on customer’s specification (i.e.:
terminals arrangement for connection of busbars, etc...).
High Voltage windings
The H.V. windings are manufactured with overlapped coils in aluminium strips,
connected in series, with rounded corners and insulated with polyester material films.
Once the single winding is completed the entire coil is anchored by glass fiber
net and after a suitable drying cycle, all windings are casted under vacuum with
epoxy resin “F” class mixed with quartz and trihydrated alumina. Moreover, for each
production cicle is sampled with calorimetric analysis to test the vitreous transition.
The adjustment holds are obtained directly in the middle part of the winding and the
various positions are made thought brass bridges.

TRAFO ELETTRO cast resin transformers are easy and rapid
to install. As constructive works or additional structures are
not required, the installation security is guaranteed by simple
indications listed in the technical and user manual supplied
together with the transformer.
Moreover, the existing sinergy between the various company
suppling the materials related to the transformers (es.: bus
bars, switches, etc...) facilitates the installation because all
the components are desigend and realized on customer
requirements.
