Oil immersed transformers can be installed indoor or outdoor, so they
are suitable for every type of application.
They can be also installed in areas where there is fire risk, just
using not flammable oils. Besides, oil immersed transformers can
be installed in high polluted areas, since opportunely treated with
external coating adapted for any type of atmospheric pollution.
We are also able to respect customer specifications for painting and
coatings (i.e. zinc coating and metallization). Such characteristics are

Magnetic core
The magnetic core is manufactured with grain-oriented low-losses
laminations, insulated with Carlyte, mitred type or step-lap, in order to
reduce the sound level and the no-load losses as much as possible.
It is clamped by steel yokes and treated with protective varnish coating
at high temperature, in order to guarantee high sturdiness to the shortcircuit stresses and during the movement.
Low voltage windings
The L.V. windings are produced by electrolytic aluminium or copper
foils, insulated with adequate thermal class material, with the particular
characteristic that makes the winding protected and resistant to the
high short-circuit forces. The exit terminals are made with aluminium
or copper bars through automatic welding.
For high current is used a transposed conductors-cable with epoxy
that combines an excellent mechanic resistance to the reduction of
the losses caused by eddy currents.

High Voltage windings
H.V. windings are manufactured with electrolytic copper enamelled
wire or strip insulated with pure cellulose paper. Normally is wound
directly above the L.V. winding. Thereby the resulting winding is really
compact and strong in order to withstand the eventual short circuit
electrodynamics forces.
For voltages higher than 72,5 kV the winding is manufactured with
interleaved disc in order to optimize the distribution of the steep-front
over voltages.
The windings can be realized with many types of conductors and
windings that are studied every time to identify the most suitable one.
Tank and cover
The cover is bolted to the tank, the sealing is guaranteed by a suitable
rubber gasket or sintered material. The tank for small transformers is
realized by undulated sheet in order to allows the oil expansion and
the dispersion of the heat generated by the transformer, whereas on
medium / big transformers it is manufactured with radiators that can
be directly connected to the tank wall or with valve for intercepting the
oil inside the radiator. All tanks are carefully tested during construction
phases and with filled transformer in order to guarantee the body
resistance to fatigue cycles (expansion and shrinkage) deriving from
the thermal dilation of the oil.

Insulating oil
The insulating oil contained in the transformer is dielectric mineral
type PCB free, preventively treated and dried. The filling is done
under-vacuum.
it is possible to request also transfomers filled with silicon oil or
synthetic ester based of MIDEL type. Those fluids ensure a greater
safety in case of fire because of their higher flammability point.
Painting and surface treatment
All internal parts are sandblasted and painted with products insoluble
to hot oil. The outside walls of the tank and cover are sandblasted
and processed with a series of single-layer water-soluble paint
coating, suitable to withstand extreme environmental conditions butd
respecting the environment.
