INTERVIEWING A POP GROUP
LESSON PLAN
Topic: Interviewing a Pop Group
Level: Beginners A2
Aims:
- To give students practice in group working
- To give students practice in asking and answering questions
- To develop student's speaking and writing skills
Introduction
Lot's of students like reading and gossiping about their favourite band or singer. In this lesson students will have
an opportunity to take part in a role paying game in which a famous music band is interviewing by journalists.
Each group personates the band and press box.
Students call their real news conference:)
Procedure
Lead in:
Students work in two groups starting their own band. They choose the manager, singer, quitartists, etc. (Each
group work on their band feed back like: the last song, the last concert, the best album) Students think about the
history of their group and about the future plans. They have to plan their answers as their fans are going to see the
conference.
At the same time students think about 10 questions they are going to ask their partners as journalist...and they are
creating one gossip about them..
Task 1
Role play
On today’s show you are going to interview celebrities....
One group acts as a band while the second one represents the press box.
Students from the press gallery ask questions to the music band in order to collect a lot of information about them.
Students have 10 minutes to interview the band, then they exchange their roles.
Task 2
Writing a short report for a gossip magazine
Students stay in their groups and write a short report for a gossip magazine, using the information from the news
conference...They can add three extra gossips about the band.
Task 3
Presentation
Each group read their report, the other can deny their gossips....

jednym z wielu atrakcyjnych pomysłów zaprezentowanych podczas szkolenia - łączy dobrą zabawę z
nauką języka angielskiego.
