Gie∏da Papierów WartoÊciowych w Warszawie SA rozpocz´∏a dzia∏alnoÊç 12 kwietnia 1991 r. Jest spó∏kà o kapitale akcyjnym w wysokoÊci 42 mln z∏otych. Na dzieƒ
31 grudnia 2001 r. akcjonariuszami Gie∏dy by∏o 48 banków i domów maklerskich oraz Skarb Paƒstwa.
The Warsaw Stock Exchange (Gie∏da Papierów WartoÊciowych w Warszawie SA) began its operations on April
12, 1991. The company's share capital amounts to PLN
42 million. As of December 31, 2001, the Exchange's
shareholders included the State Treasury and 48 banks
and brokerage houses.

General Shareholders' Meeting
The General Shareholders' Meeting is the highest body of
the Exchange. Its prerogatives include, among others,
making changes to the Articles of Association and electing
the members of the Exchange Supervisory Board.

Dwunastoosobowa Rada Gie∏dy nadzoruje dzia∏alnoÊç
Gie∏dy, m.in. dopuszcza do obrotu gie∏dowego papiery
wartoÊciowe, decyduje o nadaniu lub cofni´ciu statusu
cz∏onka Gie∏dy. Rada sk∏ada si´ z przedstawicieli banków,
domów maklerskich, instytucji finansowych, izb gospodarczych i emitentów.
The twelve-member Exchange Supervisory Board oversees
the Exchange's operations, approves securities for trading
on the Exchange, and determines whether Exchange
membership status should be conferred or withdrawn.
The Supervisory Board consists of representatives from
banks, brokerage houses, financial institutions, chambers
of commerce and issuers.

Zarzàd Gie∏dy
The Exchange Management Board
Zarzàd Gie∏dy kieruje bie˝àcà dzia∏alnoÊcià Gie∏dy, m.in.
okreÊla zasady wprowadzania papierów wartoÊciowych
do obrotu, nadzoruje dzia∏alnoÊç domów maklerskich
i maklerów gie∏dowych w zakresie obrotu gie∏dowego.
Zarzàd Gie∏dy sk∏ada si´ z pi´ciu osób. Pracami Zarzàdu
kieruje prezes Zarzàdu wybierany przez Walne Zgromadzenie.
The Management Board directs the day-to-day operations
of the Exchange; among other things, it determines the
rules for introducing securities to trading, monitors the
activity of brokerage houses and stockbrokers in the area
of Exchange trading. The Board consists of five persons,
and its work is managed by the President of the Exchange
Management Board elected by the General Shareholders'
Meeting.
