Nazwa kursu: Literatura angielska późnego średniowiecza i renesansu z
elementami historii magii, demonologii i tradycji arturiańskiej.
(Late Medieval and Early Modern English Literature)
Umiejętności zdobyte na zajęciach: Poszerzenie wiedzy dotyczącej dawnej
literatury angielskiej, zdobycie podstawowych umiejętności akademickich oraz
napisanie pracy magisterskiej.
Zakres tematyczny: Pierwszy semestr poświęcony będzie literaturze
arturiańskiej, począwszy od romansów średniowiecznych poprzez wiktoriański
mediewalizm aż po współczesny wizerunek Króla Artura w literaturze i filmie.
Drugi semestr skupi się na literaturze i kontekście kulturowym angielskiego
renesansu, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem kwestii teorii poznania, reformacji
oraz historii magii. Trzeci semestr poświęcony będzie przedstawieniom diabła w
angielskim dramacie późnośredniowiecznym i renesansowym. Treść tematyczna
semestru czwartego zależeć będzie od preferencji studentów.

Forma zaliczenia: Podstawą zaliczenia jest udział w trakcie dyskusji na
zajęciach oraz przedstawienie fragmentu pisanej pracy magisterskiej.
Forma zajęć: Dyskusja i analiza wybranych dzieł.
Ocena: 2-5
Wymagania wstępne: Ukończony kurs literatury angielskiej.
Terminy: I rok studiów magisterskich.
