science, physics, chemistry, earth and life science. The scientific program contains oral and poster sessions.
The following topics will be addressed:
- Advances in SEM
- Instrumentation and computing methods in electron microscopy
- HRTEM and electron holography
- Analytical electron microscopy
- Electron tomography
- Materials Science: Applications
- Life Sciences: Applications
CONFERENCE LOCATION AND VENUE
The conference will take place in Kraków, the second largest city of Poland, regarded as the culture capital and the
important center of science and education.
The plenary session will take place in AGH University of Science and Technology. All remaining sessions will take
place in the Hotel Galaxy.
Addresses:
- AGH University of Science and Technology, Al. Mickiewicza 30, 30-059 Kraków

TRAVEL INFORMATION
ARRIVING BY PLANE
The John Paul II International Airport Kraków-Balice is well connected to the city centre by public transportation and
by taxis.
The second nearest airport is Katowice-Pyrzowice at a distance around 100 km from Kraków city centre. There are
regular bus connections between this airport and Kraków.
ARRIVING BY TRAIN
The main railway station (Dworzec Główny) is conveniently situated in the center of the city. There is a good train
connection between Warszawa and Kraków (express or Inter City trains go every hour during day, journey lasts about
3 hours).
CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS
The papers based on conference presentations will be published in peer-reviewed journals:
- International Journal of Materials Research,
- Solid State Phenomena,
- Folia Histochemica et Cytobiologica.
All the authors, whose abstracts are accepted, are invited to submit a manuscript of the paper. Two printed copies
of the manuscript and the electronic version on CD should be delivered during the conference to the conference
desk. The template for preparation of manuscripts is available at the conference website. Based on the scientific
excellence and the subject area, the manuscripts will be selected for submission to International Journal
of Materials Research, Solid State Phenomena or Folia Histochemica et Cytobiologica.
LANGUAGE
The language of the conference will be English.
EXHIBITION
The conference will be accompanied by a specialized research instrumentation and services exhibition. Interested
companies and institutions are invited to present their exhibition stand during EM2014.
For more information on exhibition and sponsorship please contact the EM2014 Organizing Committee
([email protected]).
INSTRUCTION FOR PRESENTATION
The scientific program will include plenary and invited lectures, oral presentations and posters. The computers
and overhead projectors will be available.
Poster session will group most of the scientific contributions. Posters will be displayed on special boards
corresponding to the poster number. Poster size is 70 cm wide and 100 cm high.
