ABOUT LOCATION
Chopin's fountain is located in Planty park at Franciszkańska St. opposite the Philharmonic in Kraków. The author of the
monument is avant-guard artist Maria Jarema. The model was created in 1949 – it was realized only in autumn 2006 after
modernization. Water in the fountain spurts from 8 strings and hammers in an abstract piano. Additionally, after nightfall the
stream of water is lit with various colours.
