PRESCHOOL NEWS
The preschool children continue to discover the many
gifts that God has given them. We just finished a unit
in our Religion book entitled “God Gives Us Fish.”
Our activities have included listening to stories about
fish and creating our own fish bowl using fish cutouts. Some facts we learned were that fish live in
water. Fish breathe through slits, called gills. They
use their fins to steer themselves through the water
and they are covered with scales. Some fish are big
and some are small. We talked about how to take
care of fish as pets. In class we looked at many different pictures of fish. We prayed the following
prayer together.
Thank you, God for so many kinds of fish.
Some are big and some are very small.
We like to see their many pretty colors. Amen.
The Pre-4 children continue to work on different
skills in our reading series. These skills include letter
recognition, phonemic awareness, and comprehension skills. All of these skills are preparing the children for kindergarten.
You’ll never believe what happened on St. Patrick’s
Day. We entered our classroom to find little footprints everywhere. WHO COULD IT BE? IT
MUST HAVE BEEN A LEPRECHAUN! Something must have scared him because the toys were
scattered and some of the chairs were tipped over.
He was quite mischievous. He left a green necklace
and a lucky gold coin for each child. And for snack
we enjoyed a special treat. It was green jell-o with
whip cream. YUM-YUM-YUM.
Spring is in the air and we are looking forward to the
warmer weather.

Holy Thursday pilgrimage to churches in the city.
We are in the early planning phase and want to know
who is interested. Like in the past…..Come join us
here at the 7:00 pm mass for Holy Thursday services.
Thereafter, embark with us as we travel to six additional churches as the faithful of old have done.
We will pilgrimage by school bus and return
at approximately 11:45 pm. Seats will be limited and
a fee will be required to reserve one. If you are interested or need additional information, please call the
rectory, 773/637-6565 ext. 50 and leave your name,

the call. Come……. stay with Him.

REFLEKSJA DO CZYTAŃ IEDZIEL YCH
5 iedziela Wielkiego Postu
1. W pierwszym czytaniu (Jr 31,31-34) prorok Jeremiasz
zapowiada zawarcie „nowego przymierza” Pana Boga ze
swoim ludem; przymierza, które Pan zawierał wcześniej z
Noem, Abrahamem i z Mojżeszem na Synaju, o czym
słyszeliśmy w kolejne niedziele Wielkiego Postu. Pomimo
pragnie zawrzeć swe nowe przymierze i umieścić je „w
moje przymierze z Panem Bogiem?
2. Drugie czytanie (Hbr 5, 7-9) z Listu do Hebrajczyków
mroku cierpienia zanosi „gorące prośby i błagania” do
momencie wskrzeszenia z martwych, kiedy Jezus
przecierpiał wszystko do końca, wtedy powstało nowe
przymierze z Bogiem. Takiego stanu, podobnego Jezusowi,
doświadcza każdy człowiek cierpiący fizycznie lub
duchowo. Pomyśl, jak Ty przyjmujesz twoje cierpienie i
boleść? Czy to bolesne doświadczenie prowadzi cię bliżej
do Boga, czy od niego oddala?
3. Ewangelia (J 12, 20-33) dzisiejsza, tak bardzo mocna w
swej wymowie, jest wstępem do Męki Pańskiej. Bo oto
przychodzą na święta do Jerozolimy poganie, którzy
chcieliby zobaczyć Jezusa. Misja Jezusa, która u św. Jana
kiedy „ziarno pszenicy obumrze, aby przynieść plon
obfity”.
i to z wielkim naciskiem, do wszystkich, którzy chcą Mu
„służyć”, iść za Nim. Jezus zaprasza wszystkich do
drogę krzyża: „A ja, gdy zostanę nad ziemię wywyższony,
przyciągnę wszystkich do siebie”. Czy jesteś gotów pójść
taką drogą za Jezusem? Z Jezusem przez Krzyż do
Zmartwychwstania!
