Venue: Poznan is a flourishing city located in Western Poland, the capital of Wielkopolska Province. It
is Poland’s major business and banking centre. At the same time it is perceived as cultural, sports and
recreation centre with many historical monuments and museums: http://www.city.poznan.pl
Poznan is easily accessible by plane or train. The airport in Poznan (LAWICA) offers several
international links. Travel time by Eurocity train from Warsaw (300 km) and Berlin (280 km) is ca 3 hrs.
The registration and welcome party on Sunday, 3.09., and all sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday and
Thursday, 5-7.09, will take place in the Conference Centre of the Institute of the Bioorganic Chemistry
of the Polish Academy of Sciences, located in the downtown of Poznan, at Wieniawskiego street No
17/19: http://www.ibch.poznan.pl/En .
All sessions on Monday, 4.09., will be at the Faculty of Physics of Adam Mickiewicz University in the
university campus ”Morasko” located at Umultowska street No 85. Special buses will pick-up the
participants at 8:00 am from the accommodation places at Conference Centre and Student Dormitory
DS 6 (Dom Studenta No 6).

Registration Desk will be open on 3.09 (Sunday), 14:00-21:00, and then throughout the Conference.
Please note, that overdue payments (conference fee or accommodation in Student Dormitory) have to
be paid upon arrival in cash, in polish zloty, euro or US dollars (no credit cards can be accepted at the
registration desk). You are kindly requested to bring with you the exact amount.

Social Events: Sunday, 03.09, 18:30 – 21:00: welcome party in the Conference Centre;
Tuesday (05.09) (15:00 – 22:00) - excursion to The Kórnik Castle and Arboretum, Chamber Concert
and Conference Dinner (outdoor party).

Weather in Poland in September is variable. During the days the temperature can be from 15oC up to
30oC, but the nights are usually colder. It can be rainy. The current forecast for Poznan you can obtain

City transport:
• From Poznan Main Railway Station (Poznan Glowny) to:
- Conference Centre - by bus No 51 (from bus stop “Dworzec Glowny” to stop “Urzad Wojewodzki”);
- Student Dormitory DS 6 (Sw. Rocha str 11b) - by trams No 6, 11 or 12 (all from tram stop “Most
Dworcowy”) to the Krzywoustego-Serafitek crossing (tram stop “Serafitek”), farther take left- Serafitek
str., the entrance to the DS 6 area is from Serafitek str. (on the right side);
- “IKAR” hotel (Kosciuszki str. 118) - by bus No 51 (from bus stop “Dworzec Glowny” to stop “Solna”).
• From the Airport “LAWICA” to:
- Conference Centre - by bus No 78 (from bus stop “Lotnisko Lawica” to stop “Most Teatralny”);
- Student Dormitory DS 6 (Sw. Rocha str. 11b) - by bus No 78 (from bus stop “Lotnisko Lawica”) to the
Kaponiera traffic circuit (bus stop “Baltyk”), then by trams No 6 (from tram stop “Baltyk”) or 11 and 12
(from tram stop “Rondo Kaponiera”) to the Krzywoustego-Serafitek crossing (to tram stop “Serafitek”),
farther take left- Serafitek str., the entrance to the DS 6 area is from Serafitek str. (on the right side);
- “IKAR” hotel (Kosciuszki str. 118) - by bus No 78 (from bus stop “Lotnisko Lawica” ) to the Kaponiera
traffic circuit (bus stop “Baltyk”) and next by bus No 63 to the Solna str. (from bus stop “Baltyk” to stop
“Solna”).
• From Student Dormitory DS 6 (Sw. Rocha str. 11b) to the Conference Centre:
by tram No 12 (from the tram stop “Serafitek” to stop “Most Teatralny”) or tram No13 (from the tram
stop “Serafitek” to stop “Fredry”).

Monday, 04.09: return transportation will be provided by the organisers from the Student Dormitory (DS 6) at
Sw. Rocha str. 11b (entrance from Serafitek str.) and from the Conference Centre to the Faculty of Physics
of Adam Mickiewicz University in the university campus ”Morasko” located at Umultowska str. No 85.
The persons accommodated in the “Ikar” hotel are kindly ask to come to the Conference Centre (5 minutes
walk).
Departure of the buses at 8:00 am (sharp!). Departure for the way back at ca. 21:00.
For participants, who will be not able to use the organized transport, the suggested transport is by taxi - the
price from the Conference Centre to the university campus “Morasko” is ca. 25 PLN.
Tuesday, 05.09: excursion to the Kórnik Castle and Arboretum – return transportation will be provided from
the Conference Centre.
Departure of the buses: 15:00 (sharp!). Departure for the way back at ca. 22:00.
Instruction for Presentations:
PowerPoint presentation, slides and transparent foils may be used to illustrate the oral contributions.
The size of the place for poster is: 90cm (width) x110cm (height).
Proceedings: The papers presented at IDS&DRP 2006 will be published in a special issue of Journal of
Non-Crystalline Solids after full review procedure. All manuscripts must contain original material, and should
be written in good English. The length of the manuscript should be such that the final article does not exceed
a page limit of 6 (printed journal) pages for contributed papers and 10 printed pages for invited papers. Each
participants of the IDS&DRP 2006 Conference is entitled to submit 1 paper.
Please adhere to the following order of presentation: Article title, Author(s), Affiliation(s), Abstract, PACS
codes, Main text (Introduction; Experimental procedures or constraints on theory; Results; Discussion;
Conclusion. Sections and sub-sections must be clearly numbered according to the Journal style),
Acknowledgements, Appendices, References, Figure captions, Tables. All manuscripts MUST contain a
discussion of error analysis and/or error bars on data. It is most important to observe the rule of JNCS that
Results and Discussion cannot be combined into a single section. For more information, go to
www.elsevier.com/locate/jnoncrysol and consult “Guide for authors” as well as “Tutorial for Authors”.
Manuscripts must be entered in electronic form into the Elsevier Editorial System until end of September
2006. On the journal website at www.elsevier.com/locate/jnoncrysol, there is a link on the left-side of the
page labelled "Online submission." This link leads authors directly to the EES site. Once the author has
signed into the Elsevier Electronic Submission system, they will be able to choose "IDS&DRP 2006 Special
Issue" from a list of article types. This step immediately follows the first step in paper submission on EES
(entering the Title of the paper).
