Sunday Collection May 2, 2010
During the month of May, it is customary to participate in the
May Crowning of an image of the Blessed Virgin Mary. We will
crown the statue of Our Lady of Fatima before the 5PM and
the 8:30 AM Masses this Mothers’ Day weekend. The image of
the Blessed Virgin Mary reminds us of the close ties of Mary to
Christ and His Church.
Today we also celebrate MOTHERS’ DAY and we honor all of
our earthly Mothers in a special way. May our Blessed Mother
shower upon each of our Mothers her special graces. May she
always be our queen and mother and hold a special place in
our hearts. Happy Mothers’ day to all Mothers!
An Indoor and Outdoor Flea Market is being planned
to be held on the Social Center grounds (outside) and
also in the building. Please reserve these dates: Saturday, June 12 and Sunday June 13, 2010. The Flea
Market will begin at 8:00 A.M. and end at 6:00 P.M.
Spaces will be available at the following prices:
► One day sale: $20
► Two day sale:$35 for the space plus $5 for each table if
needed-Indoors only.
► Sellers (outside) may bring their own tables and tents.
To reserve spaces & tables call the rectory at 708-652-0948 during
office hours: 9AM to 5PM.
Payment is due no later than Tuesday, June 1, 2010 by 5PM.
All of our registered parishioners should have
received in the mail the 2010 Parish Raffle
Book and the information sheet explaining the
details about the raffle.
There are 15 weeks before we begin our Parish Carnival and Summer Fest that will begin
on Thursday August 19th so there is certainly enough time for everyone to put forth their best effort to sell their raffle book for the
benefit of our parish. Each ticket sells for just $5.00 and the cost of
the entire raffle book is $100.
The first Early Bird Raffle drawing for a $100 cash prize will be held
on Sunday, May 23rd at the 8:30 A.M. Mass. The entire raffle book
must be sold by this date in order to participate in the Early Bird
Raffle. The cover of the raffle book is used for all Early Bird drawings so you must remember to turn in the cover together with your
raffle tickets.

Saturday, May 8th. Unpaid fees for the past school year
can be made at the rectory - as soon as possible. New
registration forms for the 2010-2011 school year will be

Gospel John 14:23-29
Jesus said to his disciples:“Whoever loves me will keep my
word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him
and make our dwelling with him. Whoever does not love me
does not keep my words; yet the word you hear is not mine
but that of the Father who sent me. “I have told you this while
I am with you. The Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything and remind you of all that I told you. Peace I leave with you; my
peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give it to you.
Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid. You heard me
tell you, ‘I am going away and I will come back to you.’ If you
loved me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father; for
the Father is greater than I. And now I have told you this before it happens, so that when it happens you may believe.”
This portion of John's Gospel comes near the end of the
first of four chapters that make up Jesus' long farewell discourse at the Last Supper. This section of chapter 14 actually sums up the themes of the opening of the discourse: the
Christian's life is not shaped by Jesus' absence but by God's
abiding presence; God's presence overcomes anxiety about
God's absence; and the present holds in it the seeds of a
fresh future shaped by love, not fear.
These verses also contain a glimpse of some of the other
themes of the farewell discourse: Jesus' relationship with the
Father and the disciples' relationship to Jesus connect the
disciples to the Father as well. Jesus promises to send an
Advocate or intercessor who will remind the disciples of everything that Jesus taught them and bring them peace.
Jesus is preparing his disciples in advance for his absence
so that they will continue to believe in him and not feel all
alone after his return to the Father. After the initial excitement of his Easter appearances, Jesus will remain with his
followers in a very different way throughout the centuries.
As our celebration of the Easter season is coming to an
end, the liturgy reminds us that Jesus remains with us
through the Holy Spirit, who teaches us everything we need
to know, reminds us of all that Jesus taught, and brings us
peace.

FELIZ DIA DE LAS MADRES
Mes de Mayo
dedicado a la Virgen María
La Iglesia dedica a la Virgen María el mes de
Mayo para conocer mejor sus virtudes y amarla
más. Son muchas las virtudes de la Virgen y podemos aprovechar este mes para crecer en alguna
de ellas.
Se trata de que nos esforcemos por vivir como
hijos suyos. Esto significa:
► Mirar a María como a una madre: Platicarle
todo lo que nos pasa: lo bueno y lo malo. Saber acudir a ella en
todo momento.
► Demostrarle nuestro cariño: Hacer lo que ella espera de nosotros y recordarla a lo largo del día.
► Confiar plenamente en ella: Todas las gracias que Jesús nos da,
pasan por las manos de María, y es ella quien intercede ante su
Hijo por nuestras dificultades.
► Imitar sus virtudes: Esta es la mejor manera de demostrarle
nuestro amor.
► Rezar en familia las oraciones especialmente dedicadas a María especialmente el Santo Rosario.

Invitamos a participar en la Adoración del
Santísimo Sacramento. Cada Miércoles tenemos la Adoración todo el día. Por eso les
invitamos a encontrar el tiempo para Cristo e

entrada de la iglesia.

Jezus powiedział do swoich uczniów: «Jeśli Mnie kto
miłuje, będzie zachowywał moją naukę, a Ojciec mój
umiłuje go, i przyjdziemy do niego, i będziemy w nim
przebywać. Kto Mnie nie miłuje, ten nie zachowuje
słów moich. A nauka, którą słyszycie, nie jest moja,
ale Tego, który Mnie posłał, Ojca. To wam powiedziałem przebywając wśród was. A Pocieszyciel,
Duch Święty, którego Ojciec pośle w moim imieniu,

Nabożeństwa Majowe!
W niedziele nabożeństwa są celebrowane o godzinie
9:30AM, przed Mszą św. Serdecznie zachęcamy do
licznego udziału w tych pięknych maryjnych nabożeństwach.
Dzień Matki
Z okazji Dnia Matki wszystkim mamom składamy jak najserdeczniejsze
życzenia zdrowia, obfitości łask Bożych, Bożego błogosławieństwa oraz
stałej opieki Matki Bożej Częstochowskiej na każdy dzień waszego
życia. Niech dobry Bóg wynagrodzi stokrotnie wasz
trud i poświęcenie, drogie mamy, jakie wkładacie w
wychowanie dzieci oraz budowanie ogniska rodzinnego.

Najświętsza Maryja Panna Fatimska
13 maja
W 1916 r. w niewielkiej portugalskiej miejscowości o nazwie Fatima trójce pobożnych
dzieci: sześcioletniej Hiacyncie, jej o dwa lata starszemu
bratu Franciszkowi oraz ich
ciotecznej siostrze, dziewięcioletniej Łucji, ukazał się Anioł Pokoju. Miał on
przygotować dzieci na przyjście Maryi.
Pierwsze objawienie Matki Najświętszej doko-
9 maja 2010
nało się 13 maja 1917 r. Cudowna Pani powiedziała dzieciom: "Nie bójcie się, nic złego wam
nie zrobię. Jestem z Nieba. Chcę was prosić,
abyście tu przychodziły co miesiąc o tej samej
porze. W październiku powiem wam, kim jestem
i czego od was pragnę. Odmawiajcie codziennie
Różaniec, aby wyprosić pokój dla świata". Podczas drugiego objawienia, 13 czerwca, Maryja
obiecała zabrać wkrótce do nieba Franciszka i
Hiacyntę. Łucji powiedziała, że Pan Jezus pragnie posłużyć się jej osobą, by Maryja była więcej znana i kochana, by ustanowić nabożeństwo
do Jej Niepokalanego Serca. Dusze, które ofiarują się Niepokalanemu Sercu Maryi, otrzymają
ratunek, a Bóg obdarzy je szczególną łaską.
Trzecie objawienie z 13 lipca przedstawiało wizję piekła i prośbę odmawiania Różańca.
Następnego objawienia 13 sierpnia nie było z
powodu aresztowania dzieci. Piąte objawienie
13 września było ponowieniem prośby o odmawianie Różańca. Ostatnie, szóste objawienie
dokonało się 13 października. Mimo deszczu i
zimna w dolinie zgromadziło się 70 tys. ludzi
oczekujących na cud. Cudem słońca Matka Boża potwierdziła prawdziwość swoich objawień.
Podczas tego objawienia powiedziała:
"Przyszłam upomnieć ludzkość, aby zmieniała
życie i nie zasmucała Boga ciężkimi grzechami.
Niech ludzie codziennie odmawiają Różaniec i
pokutują za grzechy".
Chociaż objawienia Matki Bożej z Fatimy, jak
wszystkie objawienia prywatne, nie należą do
depozytu wiary, są przez wielu wierzących otaczanych szczególnym szacunkiem. Zostały one
uznane przez Kościół za zgodne z Objawieniem
dokonanym przez Chrystusa. Dlatego możemy,
chociaż nie musimy, czerpać ze wskazówek i
zachęt przekazanych nam przez Maryję.
Z objawieniami w Fatimie wiążą się tzw. trzy tajemnice fatimskie. Pierwsze dwie ujawniono już
kilkadziesiąt lat temu; ostatnią, trzecią tajemnicę, wokół której narosło wiele kontrowersji i legend, Jan Paweł II przedstawił światu dopiero
podczas swojej wizyty w Fatimie w maju 2000 r.
Sam Ojciec Święty wielokrotnie podkreślał, że
właśnie opiece Matki Bożej z Fatimy zawdzięcza uratowanie podczas zamachu dokonanego
na jego życie właśnie 13 maja 1981 r. na Placu
Świętego Piotra w Rzymie.

maj jest poświęcony Najświętszej Maryi Pannie. W
tym miesiącu składamy hołd
Bożej Rodzicielce odmawiając litanię loretańską do Matki Bożej jak też rozważając
tajemnice różańca świętego.
Zwróćmy uwagę by w tym
miesiącu czy to w sposób prywatny czy też przez
udział w nabożeństwie w kościele tej pięknej tradycji stało się zadość i abyśmy potrafili żyć tak
jak żyła Maryja Matka Chrystusa.
