Dear Colleagues,
Below you will find updated information concerning the 19th PASE Conference which will be
organized by the English Department, Faculty of Pedagogy and Fine Arts, Adam Mickiewicz
University in Kalisz on April 19th-21st, 2010 (Monday-Wednesday).
PLENARY SPEAKERS
The following distinguished scholars have agreed to participate in the 19th PASE Conference
and deliver plenary addresses:

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
Contributions are welcome which are related to the leading theme of the Conference, reflect
state-of-the-art developments in English studies and are connected with the following areas:
1. General linguistics.
2. Pragmatics.
3. Translation studies.

Applied linguistics, second language acquisition and methodology of teaching.
British literature.
American literature.
Canadian literature.
British and American culture.
Abstracts of proposed papers in the range of 200-300 words should be submitted by e-mail to
[email protected] by December 31st, 2009. The proposals should include the title, name,
affiliation, e-mail address and a short biographical note, about 60-80 words in length.
Notifications of acceptance will be sent by January 31st, 2010.
PUBLICATION OF PAPERS
After the Conference selected papers will be published in at least two peer-reviewed volumes
and efforts are currently under way to ensure that this will be done with leading international
publishing houses. Further information concerning the publication as well as the submission
guidelines will be sent to the participants before the conference and will also be included in
the conference materials.
VENUE
The venue for the event will be the main building of the Faculty of Pedagogy and Fine Arts of
Adam Mickiewicz University at Nowy Świat 28-30 where all the plenary and parallel sessions
will be held and meals and refreshments will be served.
REGISTRATION AND CONFERENCE FEE
All the participants are requested to register for the conference and pay the conference fee by
March 15th, 2010. The fee, which covers organization costs, conference materials, meals and
refreshments, is 325 PLN for PASE members, that is those participants who have paid their
membership dues by the beginning of April (information on how to join PASE can be found
at www.pase.edu.pl) and 400 PLN (100 euro) for all other participants. The funds should
