ABOUT LOCATION
It was constructed in the Middle Ages as a defensive stronghold. Picturesquely located on a hill in the valley of Kwisa river. In
the 16th c. it was converted into a Renaissance residence. The great fire of 1793 destroyed a part of the building. Rebuilt in
1909, it became one of the most beautiful monuments of Lower Silesia. During the Second World War, the castle housed
Abwehr's cryptographer school. Since 1952 a military holiday resort was located in the palace and for that reason the facility
was classified and didn't appear on the maps. Since September 1996 it has been open to public as a hotel and conference
centre. The owner is WAM Hotels Group belonging to a military housing agency (Wojskowa Agencja Mieszkaniowa
Castle buildings were used in such films as: “Gdzie jest generał?”, “Wiedźmin,” “Legenda,” “Beyond Sherwood Forest” and in
TV series: “Tajemnica twierdzy szyfrów,” “Spellbinder,” “Święta wojna” and “Pierwsza miłość.”
