Market Square with the City Hall 5. 9. The Racławice Panorama 13. Kolejkowo Dwarfs of Wrocław One of the largest old-town Market Squares in Europe with the late-Gothic City Hall in the centre of it. The Hall is one of the most recognizable buildings of Wrocław. There is the Museum of Burgher Art presenting the life of craftsmen and artists. Branch of the National Museum which exhibits the painting entitled “The Battle of Racławice” completed in 1894. This artistic work was painted by Jan Styka and Wojciech Kossak and has the overall dimensions of 114 m x 15 m. Building of the Panorama was in 1991 attached to the list of monuments. Small figurines cast in bronze which appear in the streets of Wrocław and in the least expected spots. Their precise number is already not known but the new ones are continually appearing. First dwarfs appeared in 80. painted by members of ,,the Orange Alternative”. is the bigest railway mock-up in Poland with over 200 meters of railway truck in combination with miniatures of authentic buildings from Lower Silesia. District of Four Temples University of Wrocław 14. Tumski Barge The oldest part of Wrocław situated by the Oder River. Monumental religious buildings, with St. John the Baptist Gothic Cathedral built between 12th–14th centuries and Bishop’s Palace, create its exceptional atmosphere and the Archdiocesan Museum with Christian heritage. It was founded in 1702 and is one of the oldest universities in the Central Europe. The most beautiful part of the building is Aulum Leopoldinum (Aula Leopoldina). There is also the Oratorium Marianum and the Mathematical Tower. Also called District of Tolerance, it was established in 1995 on the initiative of the Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant clergymen and the Jewish community. The temples of these 4 religions are situated here at most 300 m, which favors organizing charity and educational events. Tumski Barge – it is an absolutely unique place in Wroclaw closely associated with the Odra river. The Old Town Park 11. Japanese Garden in Szczytnicki Park Jatki (Shambles) 15. City Museum of Wrocław in Spaetgen Palace was created in the second half of the XVIII century in the area of interwalls, very close to Swidnicka Gate. Currently it occupies 1,4 hectares and is adjacent to famous Wroclaw Puppet Theatre and the Old Town Promenade. On its premises is located playground and stylized on XIX century French-style carousel. Stare Jatki Street is named after the slaughterhouses which operated here in the 13th century. Today, the street is full of art galleries and sculptures of breeding animals. Acts there ,,the Artist’s Club” – place of many cultural events. Japanese Garden in Wrocław was founded in 1913. Destroyed by the flood, it was revitalized in compliance with the rules of the Japanese garden art. Stone decorations made in the XVIII and XIX century comes from old Japanese gardens. Historical Branch of the City Museum situated in the former Royal Palace built in 1719. The main part of the exhibition is entitled “1000 Years of Wrocław History”. Centennial Hall Monumental sports and entertainment arena whose construction was completed in 1913 pursuant to Max Berg design. In 2006, the Hall was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Zoological Garden Grunwaldzki Bridge Grunwaldzki Bridge, formerly named the Imperial Bridge, was built in 1910. Today, it is the largest suspension bridge in Poland, it is 112.5 m long, 18 m wide and 20 m high. www.wroclaw.pl 16. Gondola Bay The Zoological Garden was established in Wrocław in 1865. This is one of the oldest and largest, in terms of the number of animals, zoos in Poland.
