Wesetthechallengeof developing avisionstatement that articulatesour own highestaspirationsfor health,the nursingprofession andlCN. In 1997theBoardof Directors formedthe president's Task Forceon the Futureto pursuethreemajorgoals: . to usea highlyparticipative processtoidentifykeytrends affectingthe lutureof health,nursingand lCN,andto create scenaiosshowingthewaysthesetrendscoulduniold . to usethesameparticipatory processto exploreaspirationsforthe futureofhealth, nursing andlCN,andtosummarise theseaspirations in a visionstatement . to makethetrend analysis, scenarios andvision available as inputsfor ICNstrategicplanningand as a guidebookthat NNAscanusein developing theirownplansandactivities. Thelaskforcebeganits workwiththe directionof one ICN president,l\rargretta Styles,andcompletedits workwiththe guidance ofanother, KirstenStallknecht.
