The Amber Sphere for OSTROWSKI-DESIGN
The Amber Sphere is awarded to a company selected from among AMBERIF exhibitors by
the students of the Władysław Strzemiński Łódź Academy of Fine Arts, Jewellery Department.
“We are looking for innovative, inspiring forms which stand out in a deluge of commercial
amber jewellery,” emphasises Magdalena Lamch, 2nd year student. “We always find something
noteworthy, which is demonstrated by the fact that the award has been presented for
16 years.”
This time the student judging panel with Katarzyna Katerwy, Adam Kaczmarek, Izabela
Kędzior, Martyna Woszczak and Aleksandra Szulc selected the OSTROWSKI-DESIGN Company.
The verdict emphasised a distinctive design line and a style maintained while working with
different materials, including amber. “A student award is really something. It is presented by
very young people who have a fresh outlook on jewellery,” says Jacek Ostrowski.
AMBER HANDICRAFT 2016
This year, the Pomeranian Skilled Crafts Chamber of SMEs awarded its platinum badge
in special recognition For Services to Handicraft to Prof. Barbara Kosmowska-Ceranowicz.
Amber Handicraft awards were presented in three categories:
Junior Category—Underwater World (with the use of amber)
1st place: Captain Nemo’s Treasure—brooch—Natalia Smyła
2nd place: Kraken—Patryk Caban (Częstochowa)
3rd place: In the Depths—Wiktoria Pasowska (Częstochowa)
3rd place: Cephalopods—Maciej Osowski (Gdańsk)
Honourable mentions: Wealth of the Seas Magdalena Przewoźna (Częstochowa)
Underwater Treasure Weronika Krawczyk (Częstochowa)
Senior Category:
Frutti di Mare—functional object
1st place: Frutti di Mare—Leszek Jerzy Sobiech (Gdynia)
2nd place: Nautilus—Krystian Pisarski (Gdynia)
3rd place: Amber Intoxication—Marcin Motog (Gdańsk)

1st place: Little Egg—pendant—Paweł Rojewski (Warsaw)
2nd place: Amber Artist’s Navigator—Agnieszka Mroczkowska (Gdynia)

Honourable mention: Ambra monamour—Kornel Krajewski (Gdynia)
