RELIGIOUS EDUCATION REGISTRATION
Dante Avenue, Copiague
Registration for the 2014-2015 school year will begin
on Tuesday, August 12th and extend through Tuesday,
September 23rd. It will be held at the Religious Ed
offices on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

The tuition fee for the school year 2014-2015 will be
the same as last year. However, we are adding a
preparation fee of $50 for First Holy Communion. We
already have a preparation fee for Confirmation.
These fees help defray the costs of certificates,
photography, retreat, confirmation gown etc. These
payments They must be paid at the same time as the
tuition fee.

records. This is necessary even if your child was
baptized at OLA. (If your child has never baptized,
please bring the Birth Certificate) If your child has
already received First Communion, please bring the
First Communion Certificate (or other documentation)
showing this.

This year, the Church will celebrate Catechetical
Sunday on September 21, 2014, and will focus on
the theme "Teaching About God's Gift of Forgiveness." Those whom the community has designated to serve as catechists will be called forth to
be commissioned for their ministry. Catechetical
Sunday is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the
role that each person plays, by virtue of Baptism,
in handing on the faith and being a witness to the
Gospel. Catechetical Sunday is an opportunity for
all to rededicate themselves to this mission as a
community of faith.

OUTREACH PROGRAM
If returning to school with all the supplies necessary to do
whatever work the teacher can throw at a child is a guarantee of honor grades, Copiague’s reputation for raising geniuses will be world-wide. In other words, thank you for
sending the kids off to school with all the books, pens, pencils
and other requested school items. They all left for school
well stocked.
Besides leaving for school well stocked in the “learning” department, the kids were able to have healthy lunches thanks
to our supply of tuna fish, chicken and peanut butter. You
were also generous in supplying them with snacks. Our request this week is that you continue supplying us with the
canned foods that we need to continue nourishing the less
fortunate Copiague residents.

Prowadzimy obecnie zapisy uczniów na rok szkolny
2014-15. Odbywają się one w biurze Centrum Edukacji
Religijnej we wtorki, środy i czwartki w następujących
godzinach:
wtorek: 14:00-19:00,
środa: 14:00-17:00,
czwartek: 14:00-17:00.
Zapisy trwać będą do wtorku 23 września.
Opłaty za naukę religii są takie same jak w roku ubiegłym z tą różnicą, że wprowadzone zostały zmiany w
opłatach związanych z przygotowaniem do 1szej komunii św. i bierzmowania.
Opłatę związaną z przygotowaniem do sakramentów
Pierwszej Komunii Świętej i Bierzmowania należy
uiścić wraz z opłatą za cały rok nauki.
Wysokość opłat:
- za jedno dziecko: $ 120
- za dwoje lub wiecej dzieci: $ 150
- Pierwsza Komunia Święta: $50 (tj. opłata
za fotografa i materiały przygotowawcze)
- Bierzmowanie: $85 (opłata za materiały,
rekolekcje, strój na uroczystość)
UWAGA : Rodzice uczniów rozpoczynających
naukę w klasach VII, VIII oraz Prep 6 muszą w
trakcie dokonywania zapisów spotkać się z dyrektorem Programu Edukacji Religijnej, aby otrzymać listę wymagań dotyczących Sakramentu
Bierzmowania i potrzebne informacje.
Jeżeli Wasze dziecko jest zapisywane po raz
pierwszy, musi mieć skończone 6 lat. Prosimy o
przyniesienie metryki chrztu dziecka. Jest to
wymagane nawet, jeśli dziecko zostało ochrzczone
w naszej parafii. Jeżeli natomiast dziecko nie zostało
jeszcze ochrzczone, prosimy o przyniesienie jego
metryki urodzenia. Jeżeli dziecko przyjęło już Iszą
Komunię Świętą, prosimy także o przyniesienie
odpowiednigo Świadectwa.
W przypadku jakichkolwiek pytań prosimy telefonować do biura Centrum Edukacji Religijnej- tel. 631-842-3545.
”KATOLICYZM - wyprawa do serca wiary”- Zapraszamy wszystkich do pogłębienia naszej wiary poprzez
uczestnictwo w serii Katechez opartych na dokumetnalnym filmie “Catholicism” w reżyserii ks. Roberta Barron’a.
Katechezy w języku angielskim odbywają się we wtorki i
trwać będą do połowy listopada. Każdy odcinek trwa
około 40-50 minut. Po obejrzeniu filmu jest czas na pytania i dyskusję. Początek każdej sesji o godz. 19:00 w sali
pod kościołem.

NIEDZIELA KATECHETYCZNA
W tym roku Kościół będzie obchodzić Niedzielę
Katechetyczną 21 września i skupi się wokół tematu
“Nauczania o Bożym darze przebaczania”. Osoby
wyznaczone przez wspólnotę do służenia jako
katecheci otrzymają pełnomocnictwo do pełnienia tej
posługi. Niedziela Katechetyczna jest doskonałą
okazją do zastanowienia się nad rolą, jaką każda
osoba odgrywa na mocy Chrztu św. w utrzymywaniu
wiary oraz byciu świadkiem Ewangelii. Niedziela
Katechetyczna jest również okazją dla wszystkich do
ponownego oddania się tej misji jako wspólnota
wiary.

OWE NOTHING TO ANYONE,
EXCEPT TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER
Today’s second reading from St. Paul
reiterates Jesus’ thoughts on love: “love is the
fulfillment of the law”.
However, the first reading and Gospel both
urge action that in today’s world would be
considered “politically incorrect” and hailed as the
opposite of love. In today’s mistaken notion of
freedom, everyone is free to act as he chooses. To
validate this thinking, the existence of objective
moral evil must be denied. In our society and
country, objective moral evil is accepted and even
made legal.
But listen to the message of the first
reading from the prophet Ezekiel: “and if you do
not speak out to dissuade the wicked from his way
. . . I will hold you responsible for his death”. And
in the Gospel from St. Matthew, Jesus lays out an
entire strategy for “winning over your brother”.
This is true love: leading another into the path of
righteousness.
As a people trying to live out the Gospel, we
must take these sayings seriously. It is not easy,
but it is the path to true peace and joy.
As Election Day draws near, I urge you to
take notice of the moral stance of each candidate.
