Golden Wedding Anniversary Mass
The Family Ministries Office of the Archdiocese of Chicago is
sponsoring a GOLDEN WEDDING ANNIVERSARY MASS to be
held on Sunday, August 30, 2009 at St. John Brebeuf Church in
Niles.
Couples married in 1959 who are interested in attending this
celebration should contact their parish to register.
In order for the sponsors to have adequate time to prepare the
invitations, the deadline for notifying our parish office of your
intention to attend this celebration is May 29, 2009. After that

SPRED RELIGIOUS FORMATION FOR DEVELOPMENTALLY
DISABLED: The Divine Providence Parish SPRED CENTER is
specially designed to provide religious education for children
ages 6yrs to 10yrs. Children with disabilities deserve to grow in
faith, and this program is devoted to serving them.
The Archdiocese of Chicago has been a leader in this area of
special religious education for over 30 years and in Divine Providence parish a team of volunteers is trained to work with developmentally disabled children in the area of faith development.
If you have a child, 6yrs-10yrs, who would benefit from the

St. Mary of Czestochowa School News:
In February of 2009 Fr. Radek, our pastor, received a letter
from Archbishop Cardinal George to alert him to the fact that our
parish school of St. Mary of Czestochowa, would close in June
of 2009 due to declining enrollment and a serious financial difficit. This news was received with sadness; however, it was not
really too shocking given the present status of the school and
the financial burden it was placing on our parish budget..
On February 6, 2009, the Superintendent of Schools, and
assistant superintendents from the Office of Catholic Education
held a meeting with the school parents to inform them of the
closing St. Mary of Czestochowa School in June, 2009. Procedures were implemented to guide the school families in the
process of transferring their children to other local Catholic
Schools in the Fall if it was their choice to do so.
A meeting was held on March 9, 2009 between archdiocesan
officials and the school parents to explore possibilities for the
use of our school building. It has been decided by the Office of
Catholic Schools that our school will acquire a new name: “ST.
MARY’S CENTER FOR YOUTH AND FAMILIES.” A program
for Preschool (3-4yr old) - An All Early Childhood Program (full
day) will be held in our school building. Information and sign up
packets are presently available in the school office. St. Frances
of Rome School, Our Lady of Charity School as well as the new
program in our school building will be under the direction of the
principal from St. Frances of Rome.
St. Mary’s Center for Youth and Families will be sole responsibility of the Archdiocese of Chicago and will not be funded by St.
Mary of Czestochowa Parish. Part of our school building’s
Property Insurance costs will be funded through this new program. Our parish will be responsible only for the heating and
electrical expenses.
Because St. Mary of Czestochowa School, as we all knew it
for decades, will cease to exist in June of 2009, school closing
procedures and special ceremonies are being planned. Please
save the date of WEDNESDAY, JUNE 3, 2009 at 7PM. to participate in a formal Closing Mass of the school in our church.
After the Mass all will be invited to take a final walk through the
school classrooms, the library, etc. Refreshments will be served
in Makuch Hall. All alumni, and parishioners and friends are
invited.
Because this a very difficult time for all involved, we ask your
prayers for the children and their parents and especially for the
faculty and staff who are greatly affected by the closing of the
school. We look to God’s Providence to guide us now and in the
days ahead.
We extend a heartfelt Thank You to everyone that supported
our school over the years, with your time, talent and treasure!

The CCD Classes have ended for this school year. The students took
home registration forms for the new school year—2009-2010. Parents are
to follow the requirements for registering their child/children that can be
found on the registration forms. A $100 partial payment for tuition and the
child’s baptismal certificate must be presented at the time of registration.

Mes de mayo dedicado
a la Virgen María
La Iglesia dedica a la Virgen María el
mes de Mayo para conocer mejor sus
virtudes y amarla más. Son muchas las
virtudes de la Virgen y podemos aprovechar este mes para crecer en alguna de
ellas.
Se trata de que nos esforcemos por vivir
como hijos suyos. Esto significa:
► Mirar a María como a una madre: Platicarle todo lo
que nos pasa: lo bueno y lo malo. Saber acudir a ella
en todo momento.
► Demostrarle nuestro cariño: Hacer lo que ella espera
de nosotros y recordarla a lo largo del día.
► Confiar plenamente en ella: Todas las gracias que
Jesús nos da, pasan por las manos de María, y es ella
quien intercede ante su Hijo por nuestras dificultades.
► Imitar sus virtudes: Esta es la mejor manera de demostrarle nuestro amor.
► Rezar en familia las oraciones especialmente dedicadas a María especialmente el Santo Rosario.

Mnie nie przynosi owocu, odcina, a każdą, która

przynosić owocu sama z siebie - o ile nie trwa w winnym krzewie - tak samo i wy, jeżeli we Mnie trwać
nie będziecie. Ja jestem krzewem winnym, wy - latoroślami. Kto trwa we Mnie, a Ja w nim, ten przynosi
owoc obfity, ponieważ beze Mnie nic nie możecie
uczynić. Ten, kto we Mnie nie trwa, zostanie wyrzucony jak winna latorośl i uschnie. I zbiera się ją, i

Dzień Matki
Z okazji Dnia Matki wszystkim mamom składamy jak najserdeczniejsze
życzenia zdrowia, obfitości łask Bożych, Bożego błogosławieństwa oraz
stałej opieki Matki Bożej Częstochowskiej na każdy dzień waszego
życia. Niech dobry Bóg wynagrodzi stokrotnie wasz
trud i poświęcenie, drogie mamy, jakie wkładacie w
wychowanie dzieci oraz budowanie ogniska rodzinnego.

W 1916 r. w niewielkiej
portugalskiej miejscowości o nazwie Fatima
trójce pobożnych dzieci: sześcioletniej Hiacyncie, jej o dwa lata
starszemu bratu Franciszkowi oraz ich ciotecznej siostrze, dziewięcioletniej Łucji, ukazał się Anioł Pokoju.
Miał on przygotować dzieci na przyjście Maryi.
Pierwsze objawienie Matki Najświętszej doko-

nało się 13 maja 1917 r. Cudowna Pani powiedziała dzieciom: "Nie bójcie się, nic złego wam
nie zrobię. Jestem z Nieba. Chcę was prosić,
abyście tu przychodziły co miesiąc o tej samej
porze. W październiku powiem wam, kim jestem
i czego od was pragnę. Odmawiajcie codziennie
Różaniec, aby wyprosić pokój dla świata". Podczas drugiego objawienia, 13 czerwca, Maryja
obiecała zabrać wkrótce do nieba Franciszka i
Hiacyntę. Łucji powiedziała, że Pan Jezus pragnie posłużyć się jej osobą, by Maryja była więcej znana i kochana, by ustanowić nabożeństwo
do Jej Niepokalanego Serca. Dusze, które ofiarują się Niepokalanemu Sercu Maryi, otrzymają
ratunek, a Bóg obdarzy je szczególną łaską.
Trzecie objawienie z 13 lipca przedstawiało wizję piekła i prośbę odmawiania Różańca.
Następnego objawienia 13 sierpnia nie było z
powodu aresztowania dzieci. Piąte objawienie
13 września było ponowieniem prośby o odmawianie Różańca. Ostatnie, szóste objawienie
dokonało się 13 października. Mimo deszczu i
zimna w dolinie zgromadziło się 70 tys. ludzi
oczekujących na cud. Cudem słońca Matka Boża potwierdziła prawdziwość swoich objawień.
Podczas tego objawienia powiedziała:
"Przyszłam upomnieć ludzkość, aby zmieniała
życie i nie zasmucała Boga ciężkimi grzechami.
Niech ludzie codziennie odmawiają Różaniec i
pokutują za grzechy".
Chociaż objawienia Matki Bożej z Fatimy, jak
wszystkie objawienia prywatne, nie należą do
depozytu wiary, są przez wielu wierzących otaczanych szczególnym szacunkiem. Zostały one
uznane przez Kościół za zgodne z Objawieniem
dokonanym przez Chrystusa. Dlatego możemy,
chociaż nie musimy, czerpać ze wskazówek i
zachęt przekazanych nam przez Maryję.
Z objawieniami w Fatimie wiążą się tzw. trzy tajemnice fatimskie. Pierwsze dwie ujawniono już
kilkadziesiąt lat temu; ostatnią, trzecią tajemnicę, wokół której narosło wiele kontrowersji i legend, Jan Paweł II przedstawił światu dopiero
podczas swojej wizyty w Fatimie w maju 2000 r.
Sam Ojciec Święty wielokrotnie podkreślał, że
właśnie opiece Matki Bożej z Fatimy zawdzięcza uratowanie podczas zamachu dokonanego
na jego życie właśnie 13 maja 1981 r. na Placu
Świętego Piotra w Rzymie. Dziś mija kolejna
rocznica tego wydarzenia.
