Parish Membership:
We welcome new parishioners and ask that they register at the
rectory as soon as possible.
Confessions:
Daily Monday to Saturday following the 7:00 am Mass.
Saturday afternoons at 3:30 pm.
Sacrament Of The Sick:
Sick Calls or other Emergency Calls should be made to the
rectory at any time. Arrangements can also be made for regular
visitations at home or hospital for Holy Communion and/or
Confession. We urge you to keep us aware of parishioners who
are ill in the hospital or at home.
Marriages:
Please make arrangements at least one year in advance.
Couples are urged to solemnize their vows at a Nuptial Mass.

Baptisms:
A required Baptismal Program for Parents is conducted at 1:00
pm on the second Sunday of the month in Polish and on the last
Sunday in English. The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated each
month on the First Sunday (in English) and on the Third Sunday
(in Polish.)
Religious Education For Children:
CCD classes are held every Sunday from September through
April at 9:15 am. Classes are conducted in our school building.

Every Tuesday Evening to Saint Anne following the 7:00 pm Mass.
Every Thursday Evening to Divine Mercy following the 7:00 pm

Congratulations to Sr. Mary Carmel
( Christine Bejgrowicz) who made her final Vows in
the Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration,
Religious Order this weekend in
Cleveland, Ohio.
Sister Mary Carmel was a lifelong parishioner of
OLMC and a former teacher in Bayonne Public
School system.
We wish her God’s choicest blessings!
TREASURES FROM OUR TRADITION
From the earliest centuries, we know that some
Christian women desired to vow themselves to a
celibate life to pray and serve. Some, but by no means
everyone, wanted a kind of monastic life. Others
wanted to stay in the family home. By the fourth
century, the church was celebrating the “Consecration
of Virgins,” a rite performed by the bishop, and
involving a “veiling” of the woman. It was looked upon
as a form of marriage with Christ, partly because in the
culture of the day a woman’s status in society was
linked to a man. The prayers and ritual for the
consecration of virgins were exactly the same as the
prayers and ritual for the consecration of a bride on her
wedding day. The public character of the rite gave the
bishop the opportunity to commend the virgin to the
faithful, and to threaten with punishment anyone who
tried to turn her from her commitment. Eventually, the
rite fell into disuse for women living in the world, and
was reserved for nuns. The Second Vatican Council
directed that it be revived and restored, and in nearly
every diocese, single women have embraced this form
of consecrated life.
On Palm Sunday we
heard in Paul’s letter to
the Philippians that all
things in heaven, on
earth, and under the
earth must bend their
knee at the name of
Jesus.
That name comes back
in today’s first reading.
The Sanhedrin, whom
we heard about just a
few short weeks ago in the reading of the Passion,
are again confronted by Jesus in his name being proclaimed by the apostles. Peter and the others refuse
to bend their knee to the authority of the Sanhedrin
and stop teaching in the name of Christ. In fact, they
rejoice that they have been persecuted for doing so.
Do we turn to those first brave followers
when we are called upon to give witness to the name
of Christ in our name “Christian” day by day?
When we must stand against, challenge, or confront forces that counter the gospel of justice, peace,
joy, and beauty, do we give witness with no less
than the Holy Spirit, or do we remain silent?
Do we genuinely give honor to the name of Jesus
by being his namesakes in the world today?

profesję zakonną.
Siostra Mary Carmel jest naszą parafianką, była
również nauczycielem w szkołach w naszym
mieście. Niech Bóg obdarzy siostrę
błogosławieństwem i potrzebnymi łaskami.
Ojciec Niebieski w swojej dobroci i miłosierdziu
rozpalił ich serca do podjęcia życia ubogiego,
czystego i posłusznego. Wspólne powołanie
jednoczy siostry przez konsekrację w zakonnej
rodzinie wokół Eucharystii. Przez kratę i mur
klauzury oddzielone są od świata fizycznie, lecz nie
duchowo. Przychodząc codziennie do stóp Jezusa w
Eucharystii przynoszą Mu w modlitwach sprawy
świata, Kościoła, narodu i każdego pojedynczego
człowieka.

od Wieczystej Adoracji
Życie Klarysek od Wieczystej Adoracji jest
niepowtarzalną odpowiedzią na wezwanie Boże.
Jego miłość pozwala im realizować w życiu tę ideę,
która najpierw urzeczywistniła się w sercu Matki
Marii
Klary
Bouilevaux.
Połączyła
ona
franciszkańską drogę życia ewangelicznego ze
szczególnym powołaniem do adoracji Eucharystii w
duchu dziękczynienia. Powołanie sióstr jest
świadectwem o prymacie Boga, o Jego obecności i
miłości, ponieważ oddają zycie tylko Jemu samemu
i Jego dziełu zbawiania świata. Jezus w
Najświętszym Sakramencie jest sercem każdej
Wspólnoty i życia jako adoratorek. Pociągnięte
przez miłość do Najświętszego Sakramentu Ciała i
Krwi Pańskiej, poprzez - dzień i noc trwającą adorację siostry przedłużają uwielbienie i
dziękczynienie jakie Kościół w imieniu ludu Bożego
składa Bogu w Najświętszej Ofierze. Święci
Założyciele Franciszek i Klara uczą jak dążyć
radośnie śladami Jezusa ubogiego i pokornego. Jak
Maryja, która była towarzyszką swego Syna w Jego
ubóstwie i cierpieniu siostry pragną żyć z
Chrystusem w największym ubóstwie. Za
natchnieniem Ducha Świętego Franciszek wybrał
dla siebie i swoich następców drogę modlitwy i
głoszenia Dobrej Nowiny; ten sam Duch wskazał
Klarze i jej siostrom życie kontemplacyjne w
ukryciu. Zadaniem sióstr jest wspierać i rozwijać
działalność apostolską Braci i całego Kościoła przez
życie modlitwy i pokuty. Matka Maria Klara
Bouilevaux, poruszona sceną ewangeliczną o
niewdzięczności dziewięciu trędowatych otrzymała
szczególne natchnienie, by eucharystyczną adorację
ustanowić w zakonie, w duchu ideału wiecznego
dziękczynienia. Każda siostra ma przywilej
odprawienia w ciągu dnia w oznaczonym czasie
godziny adoracji. W adoracji Najświętszego
Sakramentu siostry znajdują najbardziej skuteczny
środek osobistego uświęcenia i zbawienia świata.
OKRES WIELKANOCNY
To 50 dni radości. Trwa on
od niedzieli
Zmartwychwstania do
uroczystości Zesłania Ducha
Świętego. Ten czas obchodzi
się z wielką radością jako
jeden dzień świąteczny, jako
"wielką niedzielę". Osiem
pierwszych dni Okresu
wielkanocnego stanowi
Oktawę Wielkanocy.
Obchodzi się je jako
uroczystości, mają więc one
charakter bardzo uroczysty. Wynika to z faktu, że
prawda o Zmartwychwstaniu - największa i
najradośniejsza powinna stać się osobistym
przeżyciem każdego chrześcijanina. W tym
przeżyciu pomocna ma być liturgia, zwłaszcza
niedzieli, z których każda jest powtórzeniem
Wielkanocy (stąd nazwy II, III itd. Niedziela
Wielkanocy). Ostatnim dniem oktawy wielkanocnej
jest II Niedziela Wielkanocna, czyli Miłosierdzia
Bożego. Zewnętrznymi oznakami przeżywanego
okresu wielkanocnego są: krzyż z czerwoną stułą,
paschał i figura Zmartwychwstałego, umieszczone
przy ołtarzu. Symbole zmartwychwstania pozostają
przy ołtarzu do uroczystości Zesłania Ducha
Świętego. Czterdziestego dnia po
Zmartwychwstaniu Pańskim, uroczystość
Wniebowstąpienia Pańskiego. Dni powszednie po
tej uroczystości aż do następnej soboty włącznie
stanowią czas przygotowania i oczekiwania na
Zesłanie Ducha Świętego - Pięćdziesiątnicę. Ta
uroczystość kończy Okres Wielkanocny.
