Many of the faithful pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy regularly. There is a link between this devotion and the pro-life movement. Fr. Seraphim Michalenko, MIC, who was a principal translator of St. Faustina's diary, and the postulator of her cause of canonization, writes the following: "On at least three occasions, from 8:00-11:00 in the evening, she felt like her insides were being torn apart. She suffered so much that she thought she was going to die. The doctors couldn't figure out what was ailing her, and no medication was able to alleviate her sufferings. Later, she was given to understand that she was undergoing those pains for mothers who were aborting their children (Diary, 1276). "On another occasion, she had a vision of an angel coming with thunderbolts to destroy one of the most beautiful cities of her country. And she felt powerless to do anything about it (Diary, 474). What antidote did the Lord give her? The Chaplet of Divine Mercy. [She explained] that the city was to be chastised for its sins, primarily the sin of abortion." Święconka– Easter Celebration The Our Lady of Czestochowa Prayer Group invites you to the Parish Easter Celebration “Święconka” Sunday, April 19 At 3:00pm In the Stokes Center Tickets: Adults $25, Children 6-9 $10, children 6 and under are free. Example dedications could read: “In Memory of John Smith,” “The Smith Family,” “Jane Smith 2015,” etc. Please complete the form below and submit to the Director of Music, Anthony Woldeit after any Mass or to the rectory office. Thank you for your support, Anthony Woldeit Name: ______________________________________Telephone: _____________________ Print the dedications as you would like them to appear in the hymnals: 1._______________________________________________________ 2.______________________________________________ 3._______________________________________ _____________________________________ For more room, use a separate piece of paper. Number of Hymnals: Total: _______ x $20 $_______ From the Pastor’s Desk... I want to thank those who formed and now are part of the charitable organization in our parish called „Charity in Action.” The goal of this ministry is to support those in need in our parish and that program was presented to us last weekend. One of the ways to support this ministry are donations offered through the poor boxes in the church by the side exits. Many people are doing that for years and I want to thank all of you for sharing. Our seminarian Paul will be ordained a Deacon on Saturday, May 9 in Mundelein Seminary Chapel. He will assist at the Mass as a Deacon for the first time on Sunday, May 10 at 10:30am and 1:30pm Mass. Please save the date and pray for Paul and those preparing for the ordination of Diaconate. Through the Sacrament of Baptism, we have welcomed into our church community . . . EASTER 2015 AT ST. FRANCIS BORGIA CHURCH Congratulations to those who made their Sacraments! Z Biurka Ks. Proboszcza... Jak już z pewnością wiecie, ja pochodzę z parafii Góra Ropczycka która należy do Gminy Ropczyce. Dawniej moja rodzinna parafia należała do Diecezji Tarnowskiej i dlatego wstąpiłem do Seminarium Duchownego w Tarnowie i tam przyjąłem Święcenia Kapłąński z rąk Ks. Bp. Ablewicza w 1983 r. Kiedy dokonano zmiany podziału na poszczególne diecezje na moją prośbę zostałem przyjęty przez Ks. Bp. Kazimierza Górnego do nowo utworzonej Diecezji Rzeszowskiej do której od tamtej chwili należy moja rodzinna parafia. To właśnie dzięki Biskupowi Rzeszowskiemu mogłem zostać w Chicago i pracować wśród Polonii i teraz wśród Was. Cieszę się że będę mógł ponownie wyrazić swoją wdzięczność tym razem nowemu Biskopowi Rzeszowskiemu, Ks. Bp. Janowi Wątroba który będzie gościł w naszej parafii od 24 kwietnia do 5 maja. Ks. Biskup odprawi Mszę Św. w naszym kościele w niedzielę 26 kwietnia o godzinie 1:30pm a także będzie z nami w niedzielę 3 maja w Święto Królowej Polski na Mszy o godz. 9:00am i 6:00pm. W niedzielę 26 kwietnia po Mszy Św. o 1:30pm odbędzie się spotkanie z Ks. Biskupem w sali parafialnej zorganizowane przez Klub Ropczyce obchodzący 20-lecie swego istnienia. Zapraszamy.
