2015 Georgetown Leadership Seminar
Fundacja Edukacyjna Jana Karskiego is pleased to announce its second open competition for
participation in:
2015 GEORGETOWN LEADERSHIP SEMINAR
sponsored by the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University. This oneweek seminar will be organized in Washington, D.C., 25-30 October 2015, for 35 emerging
leaders from all over the world.
The objectives of the Georgetown Leadership Seminar are:
• to
promote among emerging world leaders a dialogue leading to cross-disciplinary
cooperation in international affairs;
• to expose participants to, and therefore broaden their understanding of, the major issues in
the foreign policy-making process in the United States through direct contact with top level
American policy makers; and
• to establish and cultivate an ongoing network crucial to strengthening international
cooperation and areas of agreement among leaders in the global community.
Candidates:
Fundacja Edukacyjna Jana Karskiego was invited to nominate two Polish candidates for
participation in the 2015 Seminar. We therefore wish to encourage civil servants, experts and
managers, employees of public and local government institutions, leaders of non-governmental
organizations as well as journalists and scholars, to apply for nomination to the Seminar.
Preferences:
Preference will be given to candidates actively working in their professional and social fields who
specialize and have significant achievements in the following:
• foreign affairs
• international relations
• political science
• international and internal security
• strategic studies and conflict resolution
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Up to 40 years of age.
Applicants must be citizens and residents of Poland at the time of application.
Applicants must have at least the M.A./M.Sc. degree.
Applicants from must have a permanent appointment at their Polish institutions.
Applicants must have minimum five years of professional experience.
Applicants must demonstrate high proficiency in the English language.
AWARD:
The award includes all meals and lodging in first-class accommodations, health
insurance, and round-trip transportation to Washington, DC.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: June 7, 2015
Interviews for those who pass the first two
screening stages are planned for the end of
June 2015.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE: A complete application* must be typed and includes:
1. Application form:
a) detailed personal questionnaire;
b) Personal Statement;
c) Essay on Jan Karski in Polish and English
d) CV (curriculum vitae);
e) two confidential letters of reference (in English), preferably from employer or job
supervisor as well as from academic advisor, sent by referees directly to Fundacja
Edukacyjna Jana Karskiego before the application deadline.
