To purchase basic skills in practical, oriented for Civil Engineering use of software Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excell,
Microsoft Power point and MathCad. Ability of elaboration algorithms for solving elementary problems of mathematics and
mechanics.

Laboratory: Microsoft Word – overview, document structure, inserting the objects, documents formatting, headers and
footers, table of contents, lists, references, tracking the changes. Microsoft Excel – spreadsheet overview, types of variables,
addressing, editing the variables, functions, charts, comments, drawings, formatting, protecting data, importing the data,
databases. Microsoft PowerPoint – overview, layout of presentation, entering and editing the text, charts, images, objects,
action buttons, slide transitions, animations, charts. MathCAD – system overview, text and math regions, document
structure, types of variables, edition of mathematical expressions, mathematical operators, use of vectors and matrices,
units, functions, overview of built in functions, solving linear or nonlinear equations and system of equation, graphs, symbolic
calculations, documents formatting, styles of text and equations, use of controls, data exchange with other applications,
basics of programming.
