Press release
25 January 2008 saw the award ceremony Breeder of the Year 2007 held in Górzno. A draw was held to distribute
some valuable prizes, including two cars, to the finalists, 35 of whom had participated in previous years, and 25 of
whom were first-time participants. The annual event – previously known as the Livestock Contractors' Competition –
was organised and sponsored by Polski Koncern Mięsny Duda to recognise outstanding livestock suppliers.
The competition held in Górzno attracted livestock suppliers from all over Poland.
Many of them have been working with PKM DUDA for several years and value the stability and reliability of the
relationship.
The prizes in the Current Supplier category were drawn by the following finalists:
1st Prize – a Ford Fiesta – Krzysztof Jezierski of Janowo, the Kikół commune.
2nd Prize – a motor scooter – Jacek Sobecki of Strzelce Małe, the Piaski commune.
3rd Prize – an LCD TV set and home cinema – Elżbieta Churska of Sierpc.
The prizes in the New Supplier category were drawn by the following finalists:
1st Prize – a Ford Fiesta – Edward Stysiał of Lubiatów, the Złotoryja commune.
2nd Prize – a motor scooter – Adam Nowak of Sokolniki.
3rd Prize – an LCD TV set and home cinema – Józef Nowak of Gogolinek, the Koronowo commune.
Other prizes were also drawn by participants in both categories.
On behalf of the Company, Maciej Duda, CEO, and Grzegorz Ograbek, Director for Economic Affairs and Raw
Materials, thanked the suppliers for their participation.
Apart from recognising the suppliers who best fulfilled the contract conditions, the final of Breeder of the Year 2007
was an opportunity to reflect on the business partnerships, and to swap experiences and views on the state of the
industry. Maciej Duda (CEO) said 'I am glad that the difficult year just passed has not weakened our relations with
suppliers, but has in fact strengthened them. I am convinced that the market will rebound this year, which means the
profitability of breeding will improve.' Maciej Duda also announced that the competition will be continued in 2008,
and that details will be published soon: 'We were surprised by the popularity of the competition. We intend to
continue it and the 2008 event is being prepared'.
