Polish Meat Concern DUDA S.A. won the Diamond of Forbes in the ranking organized by Forbes
monthly and Dun & Bradstreet company. The ranking covered companies which have been increasing
their value most dynamically over the past three years. There have been three categories: according to
the revenue of 2007: PLN 5-50m, PLN 50-200m, above PLN 200m. PKM DUDA was among companies
with the highest revenue.
The cryteria for the Diamonds of Forbes list were based on the Swiss method of assesing the company value, which
considers (among else): sales level, net rofit, fixed assets, stocks, rceivables and investment expenditure.
In 2007 the PKM DUDA revenue equalled PLN 1.33m while the net profit was over PLN 40m. After three quarters of
2008 the Group sales went over PLN 1.04b which equalled the increase by 40% in comparison to the same period in
2007.
PKM DUDA has been among the companies with the highest revenue of the meat sector for several years now. Unlike
many companies of this sector – including DUDA- BIS from Sosnowiec, the one we are sometimes mistaken for – we
have succesfully defended ourselves from the effects of difficult market conditions. Our position on the market is very
strong, our financial condition is good and the investments we have planned for next year will enable us to further
jump profits in sales and the increase of profitability. Our employees have no reasons to worry about their future in our
company whatsoever –said Maciej Duda, the president of the board. The structure of the Capital Group PKM DUDA is
divided into three basic segments: production (slaughter, dissection and processing of red meat”, trade-service
(dictribution of meat products, meat trade broking, specialized dissection services) and agriculture (raw material base
– breeding of pigs, cultivation, processing and storing cereal).
