Invitation to Baltic Sea Arena - at the Working Life Event 2012
Invitation to Baltic Sea Arena
- at the Working Life Event 2012
The EU Commission has allocated 20% of the ESF budget to work for social inclusion and combating
poverty. The Baltic Sea Strategy however, does not sufficiently address these issues. At the Working
Life - Baltic Sea Arena we aim to stimulate finding solutions for some of the most important social
issues now and in the future; the youth unemployment, the exclusion of an ageing workforce and the
social inclusion of the disabled.
Due to the demographic development in the European Union, we will soon see a reduced workforce
unless we include all able individuals in the labour market. Today, labour markets within the EU are
interconnected, and there will be an increasing mobility between countries. Challenges within the
social sphere will not only be a national concern but something we need to solve together with our
neighboring countries. Transnational cooperation is an opportunity to share knowledge, learn from
each other and build sustainable alternatives,
For the second year Inclusive Europe offer a European meeting point – where you will have the
opportunity to debate pressing issues, create common solutions, and develop transnational
partnership with partners from several European countries.
The event takes place in Stockholm, 16-17 October 2012, and has a special emphasis on the benefits
of transnational cooperation and a stronger social dimension in the Baltic Sea Strategy.
