PROCEDURES FOR CONFORMITY ASSESSMENT OF MARINE EQUIPMENT
Directive 2014/90/EU defines procedures for conformity assessment applicable at the assessment
of marine equipment.
Annex II to this directive specifies the below methods of conformity assessment:
module B – EC type examination,
module C – conformity to type,
module D – production quality assurance,
module E – product quality assurance,
module F – product verification,
module G – unit verification,
and describes methods of proceeding for particular modules.
A notified body takes part in all modules at design, examination and production stages.
The Directive indicates combinations of modules to be applied for conformity assessment of each product:
B+D or B+E, or B+F, or G. The below figure presents the combinations.
