Joanna: I want to go to the new cinema to see a horror film. It is so exciting! Would you
like to go?
S: I think it is really boring. I don’t like horror films. I prefer to watch comedies.
J: What about going out for a meal?
S: That’s better! Shall we go to KFC ?
J: I don’t want to eat fast food. I am trying to loose weight.
S: Hmmmm… What about swimming? We could go to the Leisure Centre …
J: Well, that would be nice, but it is quite expensive… It’s £6.00 per hour.
S: It is cheaper on Thursdays. It is only £3.00 per hour.
J: That’s excellent! What time shall we meet?
S: I would like to go at 5.00pm.
J: I am afraid I will be busy. I am working till 5.00pm. I need some time to get home and
get changed.
S: What about 6.00pm then?
J: That’s better ! I will meet you at the reception at 6.00pm then.

Verb forms to go or going

There are two different ways of making suggestions:
dwa rozne sposoby sugerowania, pytania:
Would you like to go to the cinema? Or What about going to the cinema?
After the phrase ‘ would you like to ‘… we use a base form of the verb:
Would you like to go there?
Would you like to eat?
Would you like to go home?
When we use the phrase ‘ what about’ …? We need to add –ing ending to the verb
Verb +ing becomes a noun :
What about going there?
What about eating?
What about going home?
