Christmas Newsletter 2014 Merry Christmas and Happy New Year In this wonderful period before Christmas In our homes, warm and festive with Christmas tree lights spinning And many gifts piled around, the world is filled with wishes. We wish you and your families a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Opłatek Celebration The stable of the Old South Carriage Tours, complete with horses and mules, was the venue again for our fourth annual opłatek celebration. Forty members and guests shared the opłatek wafers, sang Polish and English Christmas carols and enjoyed refreshments of wine, water, bread, smolec, and pickles. Along with the opłatek wafers shared that evening, additional wafers were sold with proceeds going to a charity in Poland. We wish to thank our gracious host for this special evening David Compton, owner of Old South Carriage Tours, who has supported us every year. Our theme this year is a masked ball. You are invited to wear a magical or mysterious costume complete with mask. The banquet will be completely catered including a “champagne” toast, but you may also want to bring your favorite beverage. Members who have paid their 2015 dues: $20.00 All other Guests: $30.00 Deadline for reservations with payment: January 22. We apologize that we will not be able to accept payment at the door because the food order has to go out to the caterer well in advance.
