An operating bio-burner can reach high temperatures. A suitable warning should be placed on the displayed stoves with the operating bio-burner. 5.0 Use Attention! Any modifications to the product may result in the product and safety features not functioning as intended. In all these cases, the manufacturer is not responsible or liable for the product and the right to make a warranty claim becomes null and void. 5.1 Lighting Attention! Bio ethanol is a very flammable material. Take precautions while filling the bio-burner with bio ethanol. Smoking is not allowed during filling the burner. Risk of fire! Always follow fire precautions. Attention! It is not possible to mix bio ethanol with other substances such as gasoline, heating fuel, petroleum, fuel oil, water and gel fuel, etc. 1. Use a funnel or any other measuring vessel and pour 0.75 l of bio ethanol into the burner so that the level of bio ethanol is at about 2.0 cm below the upper edge (fig.3). 2. Make sure that the burner is not overfilled and that the bio ethanol is not spilled on the bio-burner’s surface. 3. Light the bio ethanol in the bio-burner using a long lighter or matches. English 5.2 Regulating the size of the flame Bio-burner assembled in a free standing stove/ fireplace insert Bio ethanol reacts to air intake like firewood once the bio-burner is placed in a free standing stove or fireplace insert. In order to control the process of combustion, either use choke valves to control the air intake to the fireplace (See - Stove and fireplace insert manuals) or slightly open the ash pan. 5.3 Operating There are different requirements concerning air intake for bio ethanol combustion, depending on the type, structure and dimensions of the stove or fireplace insert. These parameters have an impact on the duration of combustion. The optimum flame size is obtained after heating up the bioburner. The process may take from 30 to 40 minutes when the colour of the flames changes from blue to yellow-blue. Attention! The process of combustion in the case of a substantial air intake results in a large flame and may result in the top part of the stove reaching a temperature of 100˚C. 5.4 Refuelling the bio-burner Bio ethanol may be added only when the fire in the bio-burner has been extinguished and all the bio-burner’s elements are cool. 5.5 Extinguishing fire Small blue rustling flames emitting unpleasant smell (due to incomplete combustion) - the process of combustion is about to end. Attention! Fireplace door can be opened after waiting 15 minutes since the completion of smoking. Always keep the bio-burner’s cover shut between subsequent lightnings. 5.6 Remarks about using the bio-burner 1. The bio-burner should be placed in the place where the flames will be guided by vertically or towards the door of stove or insert (fig.: 4A and 4B). 2. Steam is the end-product of bio ethanol combustion. Accumulated steam in the stove’s combustion chamber, can produce a red tarnish on unpainted cast iron parts of a stove. Remove the red tarnish by means of a rust remover or cover the parts with heat-resistant paint for stoves before lighting. 3. Any discolouration on the bio-burner’s surface is a natural side-effect of high temperatures. It can be removed with the use of a rust remover or abrasive product. 4. Bio ethanol bought from only reliable dealers must be used. 5. Bio ethanol is highly flammable. 6. Bio ethanol must be kept away from fire in a safe place away from children. 7. Any physical contact with bio ethanol (eyes, skin) must be avoided. In case of contact with eyes or skin follow the instructions provided by the bio ethanol manufacturer. 3 English 5.7 Troubleshooting Too small flame • Not enough combustion air - open the air valve control in the stove or open the door of the stove. Too big flame • Too much air for combustion - lock the air valve control in the stove or close the door of the stove. • Too large size of bio-burner in relation to the combustion chamber of the stove. • Too much fuel was poured - lock the air valve control in the stove or close the door of the stove. • Too high temperature of the burner and the stove for the next cycle of burning - lock the air valve control in the stove or close the door of the stove. 7. Unikaj kontaktu bioetanolu z oczami i skórą. W przypadku zaistnienia takiego kontaktu, postępuj zgodnie z zaleceniami producenta bioetanolu. 9 5.7 Rozwiązywanie problemów Za mały płomień • Za mało powietrza do spalania - otwórz w piecu przepustnice powietrza do spalania lub uchyl drzwi pieca. • Zbyt wysoka temperatura palnika i pieca w kolejnym cyklu palenia - przerwij palenie, odczekaj, aż palnik wystygnie i rozpal ponownie. Farba na bio-kominku zmienia kolor • Za duży bio-kominek do rozmiaru komory spalania pieca. • Nalano za dużo paliwa - przerwij palenie, odczekaj, aż palnik wystygnie i usuń nadmiar paliwa. • Zbyt wysoka temperatura palnika i pieca w kolejnym cyklu palenia - przerwij palenie, odczekaj, aż palnik wystygnie i rozpal ponownie. 6.0 Bezpieczeństwo 1. Przestrzegaj przepisów przeciwpożarowych, zwłaszcza dotyczących materiałów łatwopalnych, jakim jest bioetanol. 2. Zadbaj, aby w pobliżu palącego się bio-kominka znajdowała się gaśnica do gaszenia płynów łatwopalnych. 3. Nigdy nie pozostawiaj zapalonego bio-kominka bez odpowiedzialnego nadzoru. 4. Przenoszenie płonącego bio-kominka jest zabronione. 5. Podczas rozpalania bio-kominka zachowaj szczególną ostrożność. 6.
