POLISH FILMS COMPETITION 2016 LINE-UP! Added: 20.10.2016 We announce the line-up of the Polish Films Competition of the 24th edition of the International Film Festival of the Art of Cinematography CAMERIMAGE. In this competition the award goes to both the cinematographer and the director of the winning film. Blindness Colonel Julia Brystigier, an officer in Stalinist Poland, was called ‘Bloody Luna’ because she physically and psychologically tortured the prisoners interrogated in the Ministry of Public Security. She also supervised the arrest of the Primate of Poland of that time, Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński. And so, in the early 1960s Brystigier starts wanting to meet him. Ederly The town of Ederly, which exists beyond time on the border of dreams and reality, is visited by a conservation officer, Słow, who has an assignment in the local church. Słow feels cornered by the town’s inhabitants: first he meets a rather arrogant boy, and then he is mistaken for the lost son and brother of some strange people in a villa. An attempt to transfer the drama of dreams to the screen, stylistically closest to black comedy. One day he leaves his corporation with no possibility of return. A forest, 4 o’clock, several years later. In a mud hut dwells a half-wild, filthy, scruffy-looking man who is dressed in rags but lives in harmony with nature. It’s Frost! When his isolated shelter is visited by the 13-year-old Jadzia, he is forced to change his life once again. The first one takes place in the summer of 1939, shortly before the outbreak of World War II, and the second one after the war. All men living in the building, no matter their age or nationality, yearn for their sensual neighbour Róża. She shows them a magical world that they were never able to access before. High Frontier, The After a family tragedy, border patrolman Mateusz goes with his two adolescent sons, Janek and Tomek, to an isolated hut in the Bieszczady Mountains to sort out their relationship. There they will have to fight for survival against the ‘wild’ nature, and their situation is further complicated by the appearance of the mysterious Konrad. Nearby, in the same housing estate, live his parents – his mother Zofia, who is concerned about her son’s oversensitivity and eccentricity, and his father Zdzisław, an outstanding painter with a remarkable personality. Agata, Renata, Marzena, and Marzena’s sister Iza all strongly wish to change their lives.
