Year of Mercy Pilgrim Sunday
All are welcome to come to the Cathedral Basilica of
Christ the King, Hamilton for a Year of Mercy
Pilgrimage and pass through the Doors of Mercy next
Sunday, October 16th. The Doors of Mercy will open
at 2:00 p.m. There will be Exposition of the Blessed
Sacrament at 2:30 p.m., the Divine Mercy Chaplet and
Benediction will begin at 3:00 p.m. Pilgrims are
welcome to stay for the 4:00 p.m. Mass that day.

CWL Rummage Sale – Saturday, October 22nd
The ladies of St. Joseph's CWL would appreciate your
help in our efforts to raise funds for church and
community. We need your gently used clothing,
household items, books, jewelry, etc. to be donated and
brought to the parish hall on Friday, October 21st
between 9:00 am and 7:00 pm. (Sorry, no large
furniture or heavy items). Then come to help and
support our cause by purchasing some great bargains on
Saturday, October 22nd from 8:00 am until 1:00 pm.

having a sale this Sunday in the parish hall after each
Mass. Various religious articles, including Bibles,
Rosaries, books, movies and CD’s will be available for
purchasing.

Parenting Tip of the Month
Parents can help their children develop emotional and
mental well-being by assisting them to develop
strategies and skills for coping with stress. Parents can
do so by allowing their children to experience a little
stress, so they will learn to cope with bigger stresses.
Teach them how to handle stress: breathe deeply, talk in
a self-calming way, discuss their feelings with friends
and family, actively work at problem solving, talk to
God and listen in their heart for his response. With their
parents help, children can learn the skills needed to
ensure resiliency in the inevitable ups and downs of

Marriage Tip of the Month
New love spurs us on to spend as much time as possible
with each other. Once we marry we can get so caught
up in the demands of work, home and family that we
can lose the sense of connection that pulled us toward
each other at the start. Preparing and eating dinner
together, sharing a walk, enjoying a good movie,
attending Mass, or reading a book together are all great
examples of ways to create a stronger couple
connection. Building this connection is an important
way to form a strong and lasting relationship. Spend
time together and see where it takes you!
