My husband Larry and I have been members of the Center for over
My husband Larry and I have been members of the Center for over 10 years. I am a Registered Nurse and an Air Force Veteran. I am an active member of the Ladies' Guild and the Volunteer Library Coordinator for Library projects. In September 2005, I submitted the idea to Fr. Doug for a Children's Library for children 2 years through preCommunion age to use during Mass. With his approval, the Children's library opened in January 2006 with 50 books and we now have over 300 books. During Lent 2006, I introduced the Children's Activity Sheets and a Display of pamphlets and booklets on Faith, Prayer, Grief, and other issues for adults, teens, and children. In July 2006, a Youth Library of Christian novel series was introduced for Summer reading for ages 8 through 12 years. During the Summer of 2006, I prepared a proposal for a 2 year plan to expand my ministry to include a Special Needs Lending Library for All Ages; a Hospitality Program for parishioners, and the possibility of starting a Women's Bible Study program. This proposal was submitted to Fr. George shortly after he became the Center's Director. The Special Needs Library will have a wide variety of topics like explaining Alzheimer's and death to children, grief, faith, prayer, etc. The books for this library are mine that I have collected over the years for my faith journey, nursing, and general interests. The other ideas proposed are currently still in the "idea" phase. At present, I know little about the Council. However, I do know I that would like to make a difference to help make the John Paul II Center a place where all will grow in their Faith and feel at home. Mój mąż Larry i ja jesteśmy członkami Ośrodka od 10 lat. Jestem pielęgniarką a mój mąż weteranem lotnictwa. Jestem członkiem Ladies Guild i woluntariuszką w lokalnej bibliotece.
