I hereby grant the war veterans rights for being imprisoned in the Nazi prisons, concentration camps or extermination centers for political, nationality, religious and racial reasons, in the period of February 1942 to May 1945 i.e. for the period of 3 (three) years and 4 (four) months. Grounds The Party applied to the Office for War Veterans and Victims of Oppression [Urząd ds. Kombatantów i Osób Represjonowanych] to be granted war veterans rights set forth in the provisions of the Law on war veterans and some persons being the victims of the war and post-­‐war oppression of 24 January 1991 (uniform text: Journal of Laws 2014, item 1206) [ustawa z dnia 24 stycznia 1991 r. o kombatantach oraz niektórych osobach będących ofiarami represji wojennych i okresu
powojennego (tekst jednolity: Dz.U. 2014 poz. 1206)].
Pursuant to Article 4(1)(1a) on the Law on war veterans “The provisions apply also to the persons who were subjected to war and post-­‐war oppressions. Within the meaning of the Law, the oppressions include the periods of being imprisoned in the Nazi prisons, concentration camps or extermination centers for political, nationality, religious and racial reasons”. Pursuant to the submitted materials, the Head of the Office acknowledged the imprisonment of the party in the detention place set forth in the aforementioned provision to be proven. For these reasons, considering the contents of the above regulations and factual circumstances, the Chief of the Office ruled as per the introduction. Parties dissatisfied with the decision can contact the Head of the Office for War Veterans and Victims of Oppression and apply for a review within 14 days from the receipt of the decision.
