II.B.1 II.B.2 II.B.3 Nazwa przedmiotu Small service (course title) Kod przedmiotu (course code) Typ przedmiotu Compulsory (type of course) 10hrs lectures+ 50 hrs classes Learning effects Knowledge - student knows basic rules and aspects of designing public space; - student knows the basics in systems of public building constructions; - student knows basic problems of public urban planning. II.B.4 Poziom przedmiotu (level of course) Learning effects Abilities - student can design a simple service center; - student can build space for basic man’s activities in public space; - student can present in a graphic form his/her own designing visions of simple objects, both at a level of professional communication and a presentation to laymen. Learning effects Social competences - student learns the basics of architect’s skills that consist in coordination of a building form with its function and construction and leading to architectural creation of small scale; - student notices differences between social and individual people’s needs; - student creates sensitivity to man’s needs carried out by means of architecture. II.B.5 II.B.6 Rok studiów, semestr (year of study, semester/trimester) Semestr 04 Liczba punktów classes= ECTS1 (numer of credits) lectures = ECTS 3 Teaching methods II.B.7 Metody nauczania (teaching methods) Students carry out their own projects. Individual and group corrections are the basis of classes. Students bring solutions and indirect materials gathered at work for a complete assessment of a designing process. Corrections allow to reveal mistakes, directions of searching for better solutions on various planes: formal, functional, technical. Correction in two basic directions – revealing drawbacks and expecting to find the right solution or showing the way to achieve it. II.B.8 II.B.9 Język wykładowy (language of instruction) Imię i nazwisko wykładowcy (name of lecturer) english dr inż. arch. Marcin Włodarczyk Determining introductory courses together with prerequisites II.B.10 II.B.11 (prerequisites) Prerequisites, Handwritten drawing, descriptive geometry, materials technology, history of architecture, theory of architecture, computeraided design. Cele przedmiotu (wskazane jest określenie celów jako efektów kształcenia i kompetencji) Objectives of the course Main OBJECTIVE – developing the skills of unassisted designing – defining and then solving project problems as well as predicting the consequences of given solutions on a town scale fragment emphasizing the role of public space; Supplementary OBJECTIVE 1 - learning how to record the solutions as plane drawings reproducing the space; Supplementary OBJECTIVE 2 – learning how to evaluate observed architecture, use valuable designs and reject messy ones, creating the basis of a personal designing „technique” that is an individual method of coming to designing solutions; Wymagania wstępne (objectives of the course, preferably expressed in terms of learning outcomes and competences) Course contents Lectures issues L1 service – specificity of a spatial and functional layout; L2 service – technologies of construction and infrastructure, trends in other countries; L3 service – reality of our surroundings versus modernity in looking for contemporary solutions of public architecture; L4 service – architect’s responsibility for the shape of public space . II.B.12 Treści merytoryczne przedmiotu (course contents) Course contents Classes issues C1 - semester design of a house, a service center in a location determined individually; C1a – choice of location – planning aspects, aspects of „proper continuation” and setting in natural and cultural environment, urban planning analysis; C1b – land development, functional interiorexterior layout, surroundings guidelines for a building layout; C1c – program and functional layout of a building, relations of separate functions as well as their size and location; C1d – material solutions of construction and finishing, interior design questions in an early stage of designing, extensiveness of solving problems; C1e – graphic presentation of a project, method of drawing an architectural conception, charts contents, method of presentation, method of defending personal solutions during a public presentation; C1f – legal and ethical aspects of designing. Method of getting a credit credit with a grade Forms of getting a credit final work: preparing a project II.B.13 Metody oceny (assessment methods) Basic criterions Assessment rules: assessment of a project presented on charts (4 assessment elements: form, function, construction and graphic presentation); individual presentation of works to a group (maximum 10 minutes), a brief report on assumed guidelines and solutions.
