own designing visions of simple objects, both
at a level of professional communication and
a presentation to laymen.
Learning effects

- student learns the basics of architect’s skills
that consist in coordination of a building form
with its function and construction and
leading to architectural creation of small
scale;
- student notices differences between social

II.B.7
Metody nauczania
(teaching methods)
Students carry out their own projects. Individual
and group corrections are the basis of classes.
Students bring solutions and indirect materials
gathered at work for a complete assessment of a
designing process. Corrections allow to reveal
mistakes, directions of searching for better
solutions on various planes: formal, functional,
technical. Correction in two basic directions –
revealing drawbacks and expecting to find the
right solution or showing the way to achieve it.

Cele przedmiotu (wskazane jest określenie
celów jako efektów kształcenia i kompetencji)
Objectives of the course
Main OBJECTIVE – developing the skills of
unassisted designing – defining and then solving
project problems as well as predicting the
consequences of given solutions on a town scale
fragment emphasizing the role of public space;
Supplementary OBJECTIVE 1 - learning how to
record the solutions as plane drawings
reproducing the space;
Supplementary OBJECTIVE 2 – learning how to
evaluate observed architecture, use valuable
designs and reject messy ones,
creating the basis of a personal designing
„technique” that is an individual method of
coming to designing solutions;
Wymagania wstępne
(objectives of the course, preferably expressed in
terms of learning outcomes and competences)
Course contents
Lectures issues
L1 service – specificity of a spatial and functional
layout;
L2 service – technologies of construction and
infrastructure, trends in other countries;
L3 service – reality of our surroundings versus
modernity in looking for contemporary solutions of
public architecture;
L4 service – architect’s responsibility for the shape
of public space .
