Description Number of semesters: 3 Number ECTS points necessary to obtain qualifications: 90 Prerequisites (particularly for second-level studies): Upon completion of studies graduate obtains RECRUITMENT professional degree of: …………………… The requirements are defined by the Senate of WrUT and the Council of the Faculty of Electronics every year. 1st/2nd* level qualifications Possibility of continuing studies: Graduate profile, employability: 3rd level studies, Telecommunications and related courses The graduate is prepared to single-handedly solve scientific problems and conduct research related to design, implementation and operation of analogue and digital systems, telecommunication equipment and systems, especially the ones with broadband transmission and fibre optic techniques using modern technologies. The graduate is able to undertake independent scientific and research projects, they can do both be part of a team and manage teams. They are prepared to work in institutions related to teleinformatics and widely understood telecommunications, including science research units, design offices and commercial research centres. Some other employment places for them can be companies manufacturing IT and telecommunication equipment, telecommunication networks operators, companies dealing with operation and service of IT and telecommunication service equipment. Typical jobs for graduates of this specialisation encompass: a optical network designer, a manager/member of a scientific research team working on optical and radio networks sub-systems and also new solutions used in such networks, a manager/member of a team working on development and building telecommunication networks, a designer of fibre optic and radio communication systems and networks, a manager/specialist in operator’s planning or maintenance of telecommunication infrastructure departments. Indicate connection with University’s mission and its development strategy: The programme of studies complies with the Faculty of Electronics Development Plan adopted by the Faculty Council on 22 February 2012. The Faculty Development Plan correlates with the university mission and its development strategy adopted by the University Senate Plan in 2011. Corresponding ideas can be seen, for example in point 3 of the Development Plan “The Faculty Mission and Vision” and in point 4 of the Development Plan “Sector Models”, with the details of the Education Model, the Model of Studies and the Model of Cooperation with the Environment, taking into account job market needs and building a network of influences. 2. Range of diploma dissertation The diploma exam checks if the subject and specialisation educational effects have been achieved.
