RANKING OF TAX CONSULTING COMPANIES
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR BUSINESSES, ACCLAIM FROM COMPETITORS
Dynamic growth of Polish tax consultancies and offices
‘MDDP Michalik Dłuska Dziedzic i Partnerzy’ is the fastest developing tax consultancy.
Baker & McKenzie gets high marks for involvement in high-profile litigation cases.
In a survey we sent to tax consulting companies we asked them to identify the best team in 2006 in
three categories: dynamic development, spectacular transaction and involvement in major tax
litigation cases. We also asked to provide more details on the last two categories, if possible. Many
respondents chose to omit this information, with those who did identify their choice only rarely
providing reasons for their selection. The first category, dynamic growth, turned out to be most
successful, with 24 responses received. This category perhaps best illustrates recent developments on
the market for tax consulting services . The leader here is ‘MDDP Michalik Dłuska Dziedzic i
Partnerzy’; other companies include ‘Deloitte’, ‘P & K Tax Services’, ‘Grupa OŜóg’, ‘KMPG’ or
‘KPT Doradcy Podatkowi’. Among those mentioned, we have two companies from the so called Big
Four services firms and four smaller ones, with at least two of those smaller ones having ex Big Four
consultants in their ranks.
The spectacular transaction question garnered the lowest number of responses. Some respondents
claimed lack of knowledge, others declined by saying that their ultimate goal was to protect their
clients’ business.
While we appreciate this concern for the client, we never asked for any detailed data, and there was no
requirement to quote exact sums involved in any particular transaction. We do hope that more
companies will like to share their opinion on their colleagues’ success in future rankings. This time we
have decided not to grant any award in this category, and the category itself was left out of the table.
While we were working on our ranking, some respondents came out with new companies, consultants
or legal counsels; others withdrew their selectees, unable to specify why they considered their selected
individuals or companies to be most prominent in the tax consulting services market. Still others came
out with more proceedings they considered to be of importance. We decided to show all entries,
including those with even one single vote in their favour. W congratulate all award winners on acclaim
they have received from their competition.
