TRUE STEWARDSHIP
The gospel message proclaimed throughout the New
Testament invites us to live in harmony with the
world. This is a challenge to care for the world and be
stewards of all that God has given us. Like
generations before us, we are entrusted with the care
of the earth so that generations to follow may enjoy
the same gifts. Sometimes, however, we are absorbed
into the ways of the world. When we are of the world,
we rely heavily on the power of wealth, beauty, fame,
and accumulation of material possessions. We want
earthly possessions and carelessly turn our hearts
from the responsibilities of stewardship and
conservation. The readings today challenge us to
walk away from the world so that we might inherit
our share of God’s kingdom. How we live our lives
directly reflects our love for God.

FAMILY CONNECTION
Understanding today's feast of Christ the King may
be particularly challenging. While most of us do not
have direct experience with kings or royalty, we have
a sense of who they are. We know that royalty have
sovereignty over their kingdoms. We know that those
who are subjects to royalty offer them allegiance and
honor. To understand how Christ is our king, we
extend and magnify what we know to be true of the
best of human royalty. Christ's kingship extends to all
places, all people, and all times. Christ manifests his
kingship through his death on the cross in which he
offered salvation to everyone. Those who can see
with eyes of faith recognize Jesus to be our heavenly
king.

THANKSGIVING
Thanksgiving is a day of gathering,
a day to be with family and friends.
It’s a day to thank God for His constant Grace.
In keeping with the tradition of Thanksgiving,
let us not give in to retail,
by making it a day or evening for shopping.
Lets acknowledge God with grateful hearts
for all the many blessings in our lives.

SPECIAL COLLECTION THANKSGIVING DAY
There will be a special collection Thanksgiving Day to
help feed the hungry. Please do
not leave food donations in the
church. You can also place a
donation in the poor box and the
money will be included with the collection from
Thanksgiving Day. Thank you for your support and
remembering those less fortunate in our area.
Prayer Before Thanksgiving Dinner
Blest are you, Lord, God of creation.
Through your goodness we enjoy the fruits
of the earth and share the loving gifts of
family and friendship.
We ask your blessing on our guests,
our table and our home.
We offer thanks for the love
with which this festive meal was prepared,
and for the love and joy which bring us
together to partake of it.
In gratitude for your continued care over us,
make us mindful of the needs of others,
that we may show our thanks
in the manner of our living.
May our hearts be filled with love and praise,
as we pray in your holy name. Amen
Istnienie Boga
Większość ludzi przyjmuje, że ich życie ma
jakiś sens, wierzą, że za wszystkim musi coś stać. A
Boga" w powszednim dniu człowieka, w pytaniach:
Kim ja jestem? Skąd, dlaczego, po co jestem? Jaki
jest ostateczny sens człowieka? Odpowiedź na te
pytania daje religia. Tam, gdzie nie ma religii,
stwarza się jej namiastki. Ludzie wierzący
wszystkich epok i my obecnie jesteśmy przekonani,
że w rzeczywistości świata odnajdujemy znaki i
ślady Boskości. Podziw człowieka budziły nie tylko
zjawiska nadzwyczajne, ale powszechny porządek
natury, piękno, wspaniałość, regularność i harmonia
jej zjawisk. Jak wytłumaczyć je inaczej niż
działaniem kierującego wszystkim Ducha Bożego?
Stad tradycja religijna była już bardzo wcześnie
bodźcem dla wielkich myślicieli do głębszej
refleksji nad rzeczywistością, do pytania o początek
i prazasadę świata. Stawali przy tym wobec
tajemnicy, którą w religii, tak jak w Biblii,
nazywamy Bogiem.
Bóg tak odkryty nie jest wprawdzie
bezpośrednio tym żywym, osobowym Bogiem,
którego ukazuje nam Biblia, jest raczej prazasadą
świata, czymś, co nie podlega uwarunkowaniom,
absolutem. Niemniej tego typu refleksja spełnia
ważną funkcję. Otwiera dojście do wiary i wykazuje,
że wiara w Boga, jakkolwiek przekracza daleko
czyste
rozumowanie,
jest
jak
najbardziej
racjonalna.
