Zajęcia obejmują systematyczne omówienie najważniejszych
zdobyczy cywilizacyjnych neolitu na obszarze Bliskiego
Wschodu oraz zaprezentowanie ich znaczenia i wpływu na
kształtowanie się rozwoju tych obszarów w kolejnych okresach.
W szczególności zaprezentowane zostaną zdobycze
cywilizacyjne neolitu w zakresie gospodarki, organizacji
społecznej, systemu wierzeń, geografii społecznej oraz
architektury i organizacji przestrzeni, technologii, wymiany i
handlu dalekosiężnego oraz eksploatacji szeregu ważnych złóż
surowców naturalnych.
This course aims to systematically scrutinize the major
civilization achievements of the Near Eastern Neolithic and
present their significance and impact upon developments of the
region in subsequent periods. In particular, achievements in

major domains will be discussed. These include economy and
subsistence, social organization, belief system, social geography
as well as architecture along with space organization,
technology, trade and exchange pattern, and exploitation of
major sources of raw material.
Student 1) uzyskuje wiedzę: w zakresie dynamiki rozwoju
społeczności neolitycznych na obszarze Bliskiego Wchodu i
najważniejszych zdobyczy cywilizacyjnych w tej strefie a także
potrafi je zlokalizować w czasie i przestrzeni oraz ocenić ich
ważność z punktu widzenia rozwoju społeczności Bliskiego
Wschodu w kolejnych okresach;
2) rozumie znaczenie osiągnięć cywilizacyjnych z okresu
neolitu na obszarze Bliskiego Wschodu dla całej cywilizacji
śródziemnomorskiej w poszczególnych okresach, włączając to
cywilizacje miejskie; rozumie także mechanizmy wytwarzania
tych zdobyczy cywilizacyjnych oraz ich współzależność od
siebie;
3) opanowuje umiejętność rozpoznania rangi osiągnięć
cywilizacyjnych powstałych w okresie neolitu oraz umiejętność
rozpoznania ich konsekwencji w kolejnych okresach rozwoju
społeczności Bliskiego Wschodu.
Student: 1) will gain the basic knowledge of: the dynamic
development of the Neolithic societies in the Near East and
major achievements of this civilization in this area as well as is
in a position to locate them it time and space and assess their
significance from the standpoint of the development of
communities inhabiting the Near East in subsequent periods;
2) will gain the understanding of: significance of achievements
of the Neolithic civilization in the Near East to the entire
Mediterranean civilization in subsequent periods, including
ancient urban developments; as well as understanding of
mechanisms of their production and mutual interdependence
between their different strands;
3) will gain the skills necessary to: appreciate a significance of
these Neolithic achievements, which shall facilitate recognition
of their consequences in subsequent phases of development of
the Near Eastern societies.
