Tenth Sunday in Ordinary Time/ Dziesiąta Niedziela Zwykła
Dear Parishioners and Friends,
Faith is the basis of our Christian existence.
We repeat the profession of faith during every
Mass. We believe in God because He is our foundation, we believe in the church because it is our tradition, we believe in salvation because it is our future. If not for our faith, we would be like animals.
The joy of the Resurrection reminds us of our
future, one we are striving towards and one about which we
dream. Our faith, our religion, and finally the Holy Scriptures,
the texts written by the prophets and Apostles, inspired by the
Holy Spirit, teach us about Jesus' life on earth, but also give us
instructions and reminders about the joys and wonders of life
that constantly remind us how to live, grow, and follow Christ.
The prophet Elijah, one of the first prophets of the Old
Testament, often showed his contemporaries how to live and
behave to please the Lord. In the reading from the First Book of
Kings, we see how Elijah who often experiences God's presence
asks Him for the grace of life for the son of a poor widow. In this
event, we find an important prerequisite: only fervent and sincere prayer will be heard by God.
And what is today's message from the Gospel of Luke,
who speaks about the resurrection of a young man of Nain?
Here too we see a poor widow
weeping over the loss of her only
son. Again we hear that fervent
prayer by a man of God not only
restores everything the widow
ever loved, but also ensures she
is supported in the later years of
her life. The readings and the Gospel, consistent with each other in content and form, move our hearts and bring hope that
God who can do all, will grant us what we ask if our prayer is
zealous and sincere.
I believe that our country, our world, and our society, like
the youth of Nain, the young man resurrected by God through
the prayers of Elijah, and finally, like St. Paul who converted to
faith, will overcome its apathy and be strengthened and united
in love and hope thanks to the prayers we address to God.
Congratulations to the 8th grade students at St. Constance
School, who had their beautiful graduation ceremony on Saturday, June 4th.
God, you want to unite all people around the world
through the Holy Spirit, because only you are the Way, the
Truth and the Life. Let us, especially the young among us, know
your grace so that we wholeheartedly believe in you and trust
you to the end. God bless!

Drodzy Parafianie i Przyjaciele,
Podstawą naszej chrześcijańskiej egzystencji
jest wiara. Wyznanie wiary powtarzamy podczas każdej mszy świętej. Wierzymy w Boga, bo to nasz fundament, wierzymy w kościół, bo to nasza tradycja, wierzymy w Zbawienie, bo to nasza przyszłość. Gdyby nie
wiara, bylibyśmy podobni do zwierząt.
Radość ze Zmartwychwstania przypomina nam
o naszej przyszłości, do której zdążamy, o której myślimy i marzymy. Tak nas uczy nasza wiara, religia, wreszcie Pismo Święte,
w którym są teksty proroków, Apostołów, pisane pod natchnieniem Ducha Świętego, teksty opowiadające o życiu na ziemi i
działaniach naszego Pana, Jezusa Chrystusa. Ale znajdujemy tam
też teksty, które, tak jak dzisiejsze, mówią o radościach, cudach,
zdarzeniach, które nam ciągle przypominają, jak żyć, by powstać, by podążać za Chrystusem.
Prorok Eliasz, jeden z pierwszych proroków Starego Testamentu, niejednokrotnie pokazywał swoim współczesnym jak
żyć, jak postępować, by podobać się Panu Bogu. W tekście
Pierwszej Księgi Królewskiej czytamy, jak Eliasz, doświadczany
przez Boga różnymi dopustami, rozmawia z Majestatem Bożym, prosząc Go o łaskę życia dla
syna biednej wdowy. W tym wydarzeniu odnajdujemy ważną przesłankę dla nas wszystkich:
tylko gorliwa i szczera modlitwa zostanie przez
Boga wysłuchana.
A jakież to przesłanie wynika z czytanego
dzisiaj tekstu z Ewangelii św. Łukasza, który mówi o wskrzeszeniu młodzieńca z Nain? I tutaj
mamy do czynienia z biedną wdową płaczącą po
stracie jedynego syna. Ponownie słyszymy o żarliwej modlitwie i o Mężu Bożym, który, wskrzeszając zmarłego, nie tylko przywraca wdowie wszystko, co kochała, ale i zapewnia jej podporę na dalsze lata życia. Czytanie i
Ewangelia, spójne ze sobą w treści i formie, poruszają nasze
serca i wlewają w nas nadzieję, że Bóg, który wszystko może,
zrobi dla nas wszystko, o co poprosimy, jeśli modlitwa nasza
będzie gorąca i szczera.
Sądzę, że nasz kraj, nasz świat, nasze społeczeństwo, podobnie jak młodzieniec z Nain, jak młodzieniec wskrzeszony
przez Boga dzięki modlitwom Eliasza, wreszcie jak święty Paweł
nawrócony na wiarę, podźwignie się z marazmu codzienności i
dzięki modlitwom skierowanym do Boga zostanie umocniony i
zjednoczony wiarą, miłością i nadzieją.
Gratuluję uczniom z klasy ósmej naszej Szkoły św. Konstancji, którzy w sobotę 4-go czerwca przeżyli piękną uroczystość „graduacji”.
Boże, Ty pragniesz zjednoczyć w Duchu Świętym wszystkich ludzi na całym świecie, bo tylko Ty jesteś Drogą, Prawdą i
Życiem. Daj nam, a szczególnie młodym ludziom, tę łaskę abyśmy Ciebie poznali, całym sercem w Ciebie wierzyli i Tobie do
końca zaufali. Szczęść Boże!

The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ Sunday / Niedziela Bożego Ciała
In anticipation of the approaching 100-year anniversary of St. Constance Parish, you are invited to
purchase from the "Tree of Life" a leaf on which
you can place the names of your loved ones: parents, siblings, relatives, friends, parishioners,
priests, nuns, etc. Both the living and the dead can
be named, so that their memories will last forever. You can have your own name on a leaf or
choose to name your family. Proceeds from this
project will be used for repairs of the church
parking area and parish buildings. There are both
large and small leaves on the "Tree of Life". For
the engraving and mounting of each small leaf,
the donation is $250.00, while for each large leaf
it is $400.00. The number of leaves is limited and
there may not be enough for everyone. Please
visit the rectory office to complete all necessary
transactions.
The pilgrimage to the Ark of Noah.
Father Thaddeus Dzieszko, invites you for a four-day bus pilgrimage to the
largest in the world, 510 feet replica of Noah's Ark, which was made in Kentucky for more than $ 90 million, according to the Old Testament Biblical descriptions. In addition, we will visit the beautiful Museum of Creation and the
Basilica of the Assumption of the BLESSED VIRGIN MARY. We will have dinner
on the ship and in Hofbrauhaus" - the oldest German restaurant in America.
The trip will be held from the 5th to the 8th of September, 2016. The program
is well planned and the number of seats is limited. Reservations can be made in the rectory office by paying the full
sum of $ 620.00. More details are coming.

One day a Pastor and a
Brother took a visitor fishing
on a boat.
Once in the middle of the
lake, the Pastor said" I seem
to have forgotten my fishing
pole, be right back" and to the visitor’s amazement
stepped out of the boat and walked on top of the water
towards the shore.
When he had returned, the Brother said
"I need to use the restroom, be right back"
Again the visitor watched in amazement. Once the Brother returned, not wanting to be outdone, the visitor said "
I need to use the restroom too"
As soon as he stepped out of the boat, he sank.
The Pastor nudged the Brother and said "We should have
told him where the rocks were."

Brothers Food Pantry. You can drop them off before
Mass. Please be aware that the Seniors provided for are not

ON HOPE

Thanks to a Christmas gift from my daughter--and because the AM radio in my car is still nonfunctional--I frequently listen to Sirius XM in my
car. As I’ve written a couple of times in this
space, I specifically listen on occasion to Station
128, Joel Osteen radio. Osteen is a preacher who
pastors a megachurch out of Houston, and as he
often says, “If you’re ever in our area, please
stop by; I promise we’ll make you feel right at home.” I believe him when he says this, because he has an easy style and
delivers an upbeat message, and he honestly sounds like the
kind of guy who would make me feel right at home.
I asked an evangelical friend a while back if he was an
Osteen fan. The guy gave me an interesting response. He said
he liked Osteen quite a bit as a motivational speaker, but not
so much as a preacher. Perhaps one doesn’t make the other,
but I don’t think the two are mutually exclusive, either. I was
listening to one of Osteen’s messages recently and he was
speaking of the Good News and the promises we hear spoken
to us in Scripture, like, for example, that all things work together for the good for those who love God. So that bad medical report, that lost job, that failed relationship, that wayward
child… While none of these are good in and of themselves, in
totality--when all of the puzzle pieces are in place--the good is
(or will be) revealed.
Osteen often plays devil’s advocate to his own deliveries, challenging the message as if someone in the crowd is
raising a flag of objection precisely in that moment. Things
like, “Well, you say, ‘Joel, you just don’t know what I’m going through…’’’ Or, “Well you say, ‘Joel, everything is coming against me right now…’” Or, “Well, you say ‘Joel, if only
my wife treated me better…’” Such was the case one particular day when Osteen said, “Well, you say, ‘Joel - you’re just
filling everyone with hope with talk like that.’” The challenge
struck me, and Joel responded to it immediately with the very
words I was thinking: “Of course, I am…” Right? I mean, if
we don’t have hope, what do we have?
Osteen often quotes Scripture to make his point. I haven’t listened to him enough to know if he quotes today’s readings much, but I wouldn’t be surprised, because they resonate
with hope. From the first Book of Kings, we hear of Elijah’s
hopeful prayer that life be restored to a widow’s son. “O Lord,
my God, let the life breath return to the body of this child,”
Elijah cries, and the child revives. Hope, realized. This account foreshadows the Gospel telling of Jesus who comes upon a funeral procession near the city of Nain. Again, a widow’s son is gone. But moved by pity, Jesus touches the coffin
and calls out, “Young man, I tell you, arise.” And the young
man does. Hope, realized once more. Finally, Paul’s letter to
the Galatians reminds us that from our mothers’ wombs, God
has set us apart and called us through his grace to know Jesus
the Christ. Hope. It feeds/sustains/anchors us. I’m no Joel
Osteen, OK? But this should indeed make all of us feel right at
home.

Ks. Tadeusz Dzieszko, zaprasza na czterodniową pielgrzymkę autokarową do największej w świecie, 510 stopowej repliki Arki Noego, która została wykonana w Kentucky za ponad 90 milionów dolarów, według starotestamentalnych opisów biblijnych. Zwiedzimy ponadto
przepiękne Muzeum Stworzenia, Bazylikę Wniebowzięcia
NMP, zjemy kolację na statku oraz w najstarszej niemieckiej restauracji „Hofbrauhaus” w Ameryce. Wyjazd nastąpi w dniach od 5-go do 8-go września, 2016. Program jest

„Śladami religii i kultury
azjatyckiej”, w terminie
od 06 do 22 lutego, 2017
roku. Odwiedzimy trzy
kraje dalekiego wschodu: Tajlandię, Malezję i
Singapur. Odwiedzimy
trzy największe katedry i
sanktuaria Kościoła Katolickiego oraz wiele ciekawych miejsc związanych z azjatycką kulturą. Pełne
programy można otrzymać w biurze na plebanii lub w

ADORACJA NAJŚWIĘTSZEGO
SAKRAMENTU
W każdy wtorek w naszym kościele odbywa się Adoracja Najświętszego Sakramentu. Rozpoczynamy o godz. 8:30 rano, a kończymy o 7:00
wieczorem. Koronka do Bożego Miłosierdzia o
godzinie 3:00pm.
W czasie całego dnia Adoracji można składać osobiste
intencje do skrzynki, która znajduje się na środku kościoła. W
tych intencjach modlimy się na zakończenie adoracji o godz.
7:00 wieczorem oraz podczas Mszy św. o 7:15 w j. polskim.
W ciągu całego dnia adoracji polecamy Panu Bogu intencje: o
pokój na całym świecie oraz o powołania do służby Bożej w
Kościele.
DZIEŃ OJCA - Niedziela, 19 czerwca
Dzień ojca przypada w tym roku w niedzielę 19 czerwca. Kartki w języku polskim i
angielskim będą wyłożone przy wejściach do
kościoła. Na kopercie prosimy wpisać imię i
nazwisko żyjącego lub zmarłego ojca
i wrzucić w niedzielę do koszyka podczas niedzielnej kolekty lub przynieść do biura parafialnego. Wszystkie Msze Święte w Dniu Ojca będą sprawowane
w intencji naszych kochanych Ojców, którzy zostali polecani
naszej modlitwie.

ZADANIE MISYJNE PARAFII ŚW. KONSTANCJI
St. Constance Parish is a prayerful, caring, and welcoming
Roman Catholic community. Originally founded in 1916 as
an outreach church for Polish immigrants, it is now culturally diverse. We share a commitment to the stewardship of
our talents, time and resources. Through the celebration of
the liturgy, sacraments, and our ministries, we bring the
Father’s love, Christ’s peace, and the Holy Spirit’s inspiration to one another. Our future lies with tradition, vision
and change. By embracing the Good News and our Catholic
identity on our journey toward holiness, we seek to be a
sign to the world of all that we believe.
Parafia Św. Konstancji jest modlitewną, opiekuńczą i otwartą na wszystkich wspólnotą Kościoła Rzymsko-Katolickiego. Parafia, która została
założona w 1916 r., przez polskich emigrantów, obecnie jest zróżnicowana kulturowo. Jako wspólnota parafialna tak podejmujemy nasze zadania, aby jeszcze lepiej dzielić się naszymi talentami, czasem i dobrami.
Poprzez liturgię, sakramenty i nasze posługiwanie niesiemy miłość Boga
Ojca, pokój Chrystusa i inspiracje Ducha Świętego do innych. Naszą troskę o przyszłość łączymy z tradycją, ze zdolnością przewidywania i odczytywania znaków czasu. Poprzez troskę o Dobrą Nowinę i naszą katolicką tożsamość, na naszej drodze do świętości staramy się być dla świata znakiem tego wszystkiego w co wierzymy.
INFORMACJE O SAKRAMENTACH ŚWIĘTYCH
SACRAMENTAL LIFE
Baptisms… We celebrate Baptisms in the English language
on the first and third Sundays and in the Polish language
on the second and fourth Sundays of each month. Parents
must participate in a Baptismal preparation meeting before a date can be scheduled. To register for a meeting call
the rectory secretary.
Weddings… The Archdiocese of Chicago requires arrangements for weddings be made four months in advance.
We at St. Constance strongly recommend at least six
months before the date of marriage. You will need to
meet with our deacon / priest before any other arrangements are made. Call the rectory for an appointment.
Sacrament of the Sick… Call the Rectory to make arrangements for a priest. Please do not wait until the person is
unconscious or near death.
Communion Calls… If you or someone you love are ill or
home bound and would like to receive Communion, call
the rectory to make arrangements for regular visits.
Chrzty… Sakrament Chrztu Świętego jest udzielany w języku angielskim i
polskim. Chrzty w języku angielskim są w pierwszą i trzecią niedzielę, a w
języku polskim w drugą i czwartą niedzielę każdego miesiąca. Rodzice są
zobowiązani do wzięcia udziału w spotkaniu przygotowującym do tego
sakramentu przed planowaną datą chrztu dziecka. Prosimy o skontaktowanie się z biurem parafialnym, aby zgłosić dziecko do chrztu.
Sakrament Małżeństwa… Archidiecezja Chicago zaleca, aby osoby, które
planują zawarcie sakramentu małżeństwa zgłosiły się do biura parafialnego co najmniej cztery miesiące przed datą ślubu. Chcielibyśmy i usilnie zalecamy, aby w naszej parafii okres przygotowania trwać sześć miesięcy. Prosimy, abyście najpierw ustalili termin w kościele, a następnie w
innych miejscach. Zapraszamy więc do naszego biura parafialnego najwcześniej jak tylko jest to możliwe .
Sakrament Namaszczenia Chorych… Prosimy o kontakt z księdzem w celu
ustalenia terminu przyjęcia tego sakramentu. Przypominamy, że nie wolno
zwlekać z udzieleniem sakramentu chorych do momentu kiedy osoba będzie nieprzytomna lub bliska śmierci.
Komunia Święta dla chorych… Jeśli ktoś z was lub waszych bliskich choruje i chciałby przyjąć Komunię Świętą, to prosimy o zgłoszenie osoby chorej
do biura parafialnego, do osoby odpowiedzialnej za Duszpasterstwo chorych, aby ustalić datę odwiedzin w domu.
