Podstawowej nr 4. Specjalnie dla swoich młodszych kolegów
licealiści z klasy II C pod opieką p. Doroty Stępniak
przygotowali
przedstawienie
w
języku
angielskim
pt. The Flamingo.
Po obejrzeniu przedstawienia szóstoklasiści wzięli udział
w zawodach językowych, w których zwyciężyli uczniowie klasy
6b.
Cieszymy się, ze nasze przedstawienia językowe wywołują tyle
pozytywnych emocji i mamy nadzieję, że w ten sposób
zachęcamy naszych młodszych kolegów do uczenia się
języków obcych.
Polsko –niemiecka wymiana w naszej szkole-dołącz!
Dopiero zakupiliśmy bilety na pierwszą szkolną wyprawę
do Niemiec, a już zapraszamy uczniów klas pierwszych
do przyjęcia gości zaraz po wakacjach.
Wszystkie informacje na temat wymiany można zdobyć
u nauczycielki języka niemieckiego, p. Renaty Wójcik, a także
odnaleźć na stronie internetowej szkoły.
O tym, czy warto brać udział w wymianie, zapytajcie też
koleżanki i kolegów z klas drugich, którzy w czerwcu lecą
do Wuppertalu, z nadzieją na fantastyczne spotkanie!
Szukamy ok. 15 osób chętnych do przyłączenia się do naszego
projektu!
Niezwykli goście w murach II LO
bin eine Leseratte.
Meistens lese ich im Zug oder
im Bett, aber am liebsten lese ich
im Garten. Ich greife gern nach
Krimis
und
Belletristik.
Ich
bevorzuge ausländische Autoren.
Zum einen Lieblings schrift stellern
gehören Hanna Winter und Paulo
Coelho. Ich mag wissen schaftliche
Büchernicht. Fast immer kaufe ich
Bücher per Internet, aber manchmal
leiheich sie in der Bibliothek aus. Ich
lese um mich zuent spannen.
Im Schuljahr habe ich keine Zeit,
darum lese ich wenig (nur
Schullektüren), in den Sommerferien
lese ich mehr.
Letzten shabe ich einen
Liebesroman gelesen. Das wardas
Buch unter dem Titel „Mein
Wegzudir” von Nicholas Sparks.
Der Originelltitellautet „The Best
of Me”. Das Buch erzählt über
zweiein ander liebende Menschen.
Sie haben sich vor zwanzig Jahren
kennen gelernt und jetzt haben sie
sich bei der Beerdigung eines
Freundes
wieder
getroffen.
Der Roman ist ganz gut, aber ich
empfehle lieber die polnische
Verfilmung.
Od 29 lutego w ramach projektu edukacyjnego AISEC Polska
World Talks będziemy mieli możliwość wziąć udział
w niezwykłych lekcjach języka angielskiego, geografii, historii

i kultury. Do naszego liceum przyjedzie 2 studentów:
z Indonezji i z Gruzji. Będą prowadzić zajęcia i warsztaty,
podczas których poznamy ich kraje, tradycje i kulturę. Relacja
z tej niecodziennej wizyty już w następnym numerze.

A book worth reading
Have you ever read a book that was so good that you just had
to read it over and over again? Well, I have. This magnificent
story is 'Master and Margarita' by Mikhail Bulgakov.
The main plot concerns Satan (Woland) and his company's
arrival to the atheistic Soviet Union. The action takes place
at three sites: 1930s Moscow, Jerusalem of the times Zachęcamy do przeczytania pięknego

Washington
A little bit of history of the USA
Numerous Americans wanting to change their
place of residence do not often know which state
would be appropriate for them. In our opinion
Washington is the most affordable and
comfortable place to settle in the USA.
The United States of America is a young but
a really proud nation. The history of the USA is not
long compared with the history of European
countries. Nevertheless, it contains a lot of great
and honorable moments some of which can
be called real breakthroughs. We are going
to present three of such events in the American
history which, in our opinion, shaped the country
and its people.
One of the most important moments
for everyone who lives in the USA is the discovery
of America by Christopher Columbus in 1492. This
vast land would have been discovered sooner
or later but nobody knows what the consequences
of a slower rise of this land would have been. After
discovery of America, there were many expeditions
to conquer this place and they undoubtedly
influenced the history of the world.
Another very important date in the history
of the United States of America was signing the US
Constitution in 1789. This event is one of the first
solely connected to American nation. It was the first
vital sign of the true independence of the country
and its people. It is a really important event
in history not only for the Americans but for
the whole world, too. The constitution of the United
States of America was an example for every nation
in the world that wanted to gain independence.
Finally,
a
really
important
event
in the American history was the Civil War.
In the 19th century, the USA nation was divided into
two main sides: the Union and the Confederacy.
Their conflicts could have destroyed everything that
people in America had been fighting for in the past
300 years. The war began in 1861 and ended
in 1865 taking lives of many patriotic men but
thanks to that, one of the sides won and there was
a chance to reach an agreement between the North
and the South. The Civil War helped to end slavery
and it began a very important fight for the racial
equality. The issue which is sill important
in American society.
To sum up, we believe that the discovery
of America, the signing the Constitution and
the Civil War were the greatest breakthroughs in the
US history. In our opinion these events shaped the
country and make it look the way it is now.
Undoubtedly, nowadays the United States
of America is one of the most powerful countries
on our planet but it would not have happened
without efforts of its citizens.

First of all, Washington is praised for beautiful
views. Amazing mountain ranges and green areas
( e.g. Mount Rainier National Park) are why
it is called "The Evergreen State". It seems
an exceptional place for both active and elderly
people. Residents may take up diverse sports,
whereas the retired could spend time admiring
picturesque sceneries. Everyone will find
something to suit their taste.
Furthermore, residing in Washington gives
plentiful educational opportunities as the state
consists of 295 school districts. Scholastic
institutions, e.g. The Evergreen State College,
allow students to participate in Running Start
program. It enables both juniors and seniors
to attend college courses without any tuition fees.
Washington universities prevail on many areas
and Washington University is among the most
outstanding ones for agricultural research
in the USA.
On the contrary, a drawback discouraging visitors
is certainly the weather. It rains there almost half
a year and, undoubtedly, Washington is the most
humid state in the West Coast. Moreover, location
in the rain shadow area makes the climate even
more
dramatically
varied.
Statistically,
it is claimed that clouds occupy the sky six days
per week. Therefore, Washington is surely not for
lazy, sunbathing type of people but rather for
sports and healthy "nuts" for whom the weather
is never an obstacle.
Taking everything into account, Washington could
be the best option for people hunting for natural
sights and not minding bad weather. And first and
foremost, it is an accurate location for those who
incline towards calm and undisturbed life with
good academic opportunities. So why not dwell
there one day?
