After the short intermission the performance resumed. The other
part of it was relatively calm. The documentary style of the first
part gave way to a more philosophical one after the break. There
were no more live reports from the different parts of America,
no more tension, no more suspense, no more screams and shouts, no
more breaking news. There followed the story of Professor Pierson,
which made up the other part of the performance. His words brought
the relation of the events to an end with the unexpected explanation
of the aliens’ final defeat. True, human forces could not prevail over
them, yet the Martians all died before they could conquer Earth.
Po krótkiej przerwie słuchowisko zostało wznowione. Druga jego
część była dość spokojna. Styl dokumentalny pierwszej części po
przerwie ustąpił miejsca bardziej filozoficznemu. Nie było już reportaży na żywo z różnych części Ameryki, nie było napięcia,
