Project Office ____________________ Katarzyna Bock (Project secretary) Angelika Upka (Project assistant) Project report, 1 December 2012–30 April 2013* 1. Organisation of work The Project has been carried out since 6 March 2012 by the Polish Historical Society led by Prof dr hab Marek Derwich from the Institute of History, University of Wrocław. The Project team also includes: Angelika Lipka (assistant), Mgr Patryk Dawidziuk (IT coordinator) as well as, until April 2013, Mgr Mateusz Matuszyk (coordinator) and until June 2013 Mgr Katarzyna Bock (secretary), and a growing group of collaborators (189 as of today) from Poland and other countries, representing a variety of research disciplines. The Project Office is based in Wrocław, at the headquarters of the Wrocław Friends of History Society, branch of the Polish Historical Society, which, courtesy of the management of the Institute of History, University of Wrocław, is located at the Institute, ul. Świdnicka 10, room 6., phone: +48 71 798 97 02. 1.1. Website One of the most important promotional tools used in the Project is the website www.kasaty.pl, which has been significantly changed during this reporting period in order for it to better serve the growing needs of the Project. It features e.g. contact data (“Contact” tab), information about the Project and its Office (“Project” / “Information bout the Project”), its members (“Project” / “Team” – information about the members’ research specialties, their institutions and e-mail addresses facilitates quick, direct contact, experience and information sharing as well as interdisciplinary collaboration under the Project) and institutional partners (“Project” / “Partners”), Project Chronicle (“Project” / “Project Chronicle”), information about current events updated every month (“Events” tab with monthly information about all work carried out under the Project (“News”), publications (“Publications”), research (“Research”), and “Conferences” tab with information about all conferences organised and co-organised under the Project, conferences under the patronage of the Project as well as those during which Project-related content is presented). Similar information will soon be made available with regard to publications (“Publications”) as well as acquired, edited and digitised sources and studies connected with the subject matter of the Project (“Materials”). The “Database” tab constitutes a link to the Knowledge Portal. The websites also provides a link to the website of the Hereditas Monasteriorum journal, where all issues published to date are available in an online version. * Research financed under the Ministry of Science and Higher Education’s “National Programme for the Development of Humanities” for 2012-2016. 1.2. Knowledge Portal We are continuing the time-consuming work on the Knowledge Portal. It is carried out simultaneously on two planes. First of all, tests are carried out and corrections are made to the databases: of dissolved monasteries (which has already been made available to the Project collaborators), bibliography, fate of the monastics, printed books, manuscripts, dissolution and post-dissolution archival material, natural heritage, ownership marks, movables, musical items and architecture. Some of our collaborators have already been given rights to add entries to these databases. Secondly, we are collecting offline records (in special Excel forms) which will then be automatically exported to the server and made available in the Knowledge Portal. So far the following records have been compiled: 1,339 records in the dissolved monasteries database; 1,998 records in the printed books database; 475 records in the musical items database. 2.
