PRESENT PERFECT VS. PAST SIMPLE Kiedy używamy?/ Okoliczniki czasu. PAST SIMPLE PRESENT PERFECT SIMPLE PAST PERFECT SIMPLE 1. Kiedy mówimy o czynności dokonanej, która odbyła się (zakończyła się) w określonym momencie w przeszłości, np. I painted my room last week. – Pomalowałam mój pokój w ubiegłym tygodniu. Mówię takie zdanie, aby poinformować o tym kiedy zakończyłam czynność malowania pokoju. (Czasownik jest dokonany – pomalowałam, czas wykonania czynności jest istotny – w ubiegłym tygodniu). 2. Kiedy mówimy o czymś co zawsze chciała robić lub czego nigdy nie robiła osoba, która już nie żyje, np. Adam Mickiewicz always wanted to go to Egipt. 1. Kiedy mówimy o czynności, która miała miejsce w przeszłości, ale zwracamy uwagę na jej skutek zamierzony w teraźniejszości, a nie na czas jej wykonania, np. I have painted my room. – Pomalowałam mój pokój. Mówię takie zdanie, aby poinformować o tym, że pokój jest odnowiony. Nie ma informacji o tym, kiedy to się stało. (Czasownik jest dokonany – pomalowałam). 1. Kiedy mówimy o czynności, która miała miejsce w przeszłości przed inną czynnością przeszłą, np.: She came home late and saw the mess she had made the previous day. (Przyszła do domu i zobaczyła bałagan, który zrobiła poprzedniego dnia. Bałagan zrobiła dzień wcześniej-past perfect; następnego dnia przyszła i go zobaczyła-past simple.) 2. Kiedy mówimy o czymś co zawsze chcieliśmy robić lub czego nigdy nie robiliśmy (aż do dziś). Okoliczniki czasu używane w tym kontekście: never, always i w pytaniu ever, np. I am sitting on the plane. I’m horrified because I have never flown before. (Nigdy wcześniej, aż do dziś.) Have you ever been to Italy? I have always wanted to go to Paris but I have never been there. 3. Kiedy czas, o którym mowa jeszcze się nie skończył. Okoliczniki czasu używane w tym kontekście: this week, this month, this year …, np. I have watched three comedies this week. (Ten tydzień wciąż trwa i ja wciąż oglądam telewizję i liczba obejrzanych przeze mnie komedii rośnie). 4. Stosujemy present perfect simple jeszcze z następującymi okolicznikami czasu: just – właśnie, already – już (w zdaniu twierdzącym), yet – już (w pytaniu), jeszcze (w przeczeniu), lately, recently – ostatnio, so far – do tej pory, np. I haven’t finished my homework yet. 5. Kiedy jakaś czynność trwała od jakiegoś momentu do chwili obecnej. Okoliczniki czasu używane w tym kontekście: since – od konkretnego momentu w 2. Kiedy mówimy o czymś co zawsze chcieliśmy robić lub czego nigdy nie robiliśmy (aż do jakiejś innej czynności przeszłej.) Okoliczniki czasu używane w tym kontekście: never, always, np.: I was sitting on the plane last Sunday. I was horrified because I had never flown before. (Nigdy wcześniej, aż do ubiegłej niedzieli.) 3. Kiedy czas, o którym mowa zakończył się. Okoliczniki czasu: last week, last month, last year, 2 years ago, 5 months ago ..., np. I watched three comedies last week. (Czynność została wykonana i zakończona w ubiegłym tygodniu). 4. Stosujemy past simple z następującymi okolicznikami czasu: yesterday - wczoraj, the day before yesterday – przedwczoraj, a week ago – tydzień temu, last Monday – w ubiegły poniedziałek, in 2002 – w 2002 roku, np. I finished my homework 2 hours ago. 3. Okoliczniki czasu używane w tym kontekście: after, before, np.: Before she went to school she had eaten breakfast. (Zanim poszła do szkoły zjadła śniadanie. Najpierw zjadła śniadanie, potem poszła do szkoły. Czynność wcześniejszapast perfect, czynność późniejszapast simple. (Zmyliśmy naczynia 10 minut temu) Pytania tworzymy używając operatora “did”, czasownik ma wówczas formę bezokolicznika: Did we wash up? We didn’t wash up. przeszłości, for – przez jakiś okres czasu, np. She has waited for him for 2 hours/ since 4 o’clock. – Ona czekała na niego przez 2 godziny/ od czwartej godziny (ale właśnie jej czekanie się skończyło). Have/Has + past participle – czasownik z końcówką –ed (jeśli czasownik jest regularny) lub III forma czasownika (jeśli czasownik jest nieregularny) We have washed up this is why it’s clean in the kitchen. (Zmyliśmy naczynia dlatego jest posprzątane w kuchni.) Have we washed up? We haven’t washed up. Had + past participle –czasownik z końcówką –ed (jeśli czasownik jest regularny) lub III forma czasownika (jeśli czasownik jest nieregularny) After she had finished her homework she left for school. (Po tym jak skończyła zadanie domowe, wyszła do szkoły.) Had she finished her homework before she left for school? She hadn’t finished finished her homework before she left for school. 1.
