A CHRISTMAS SURPRISE
It was Christmas Eve. The streets were white with snow and the shops were full of coloured
lights and people buying presents. Richard stood outside in the street. „I wish I could buy
some presents too”, he said. He felt so sad that he decided to go home. As he walked through
the snow, he kicked something. ”What's this?” he thought, as he stopped to pick it up. In the
snow, there was a small, black bag full of money and important papers. „Whose is this?”
Richard asked. „I wish my family had all this money!” Then, he saw a man in an expensive
jacket looking for something. „I know what he's looking for”, Richard thought. He looked at
the money again and thought about all the things he could buy with it. Then, Richard decided
to do the right thing and ran up to the man. „Excuse me, have you lost something?” Richard
asked the man. The man looked surprised and said, „Yes, I 've lost a small, black bag! Have
you seen it?” Richard gave the bag to the man. „Thank you so much,” the man said happily
and started to walk away. Then, he saw Richard's old clothes and sad face and stopped. „You
did something good tonight, so I want to give you this” , the man said, putting a lot of money
into Richard's cold hands. Richard smiled. He couldn't believe it!” „Thank you,” he said.
„Now I can have a good Christmas and I can buy a lot of presents for my family
