FIRST HOLY COMMUNION
RECOGNIZING JESUS
St. Peter speaks to us twice today. In the
first reading, we hear an excerpt from his sermon on Pentecost. Once a frightened, uneducated fisherman who often said just the wrong
thing, now Peter is speaking what he knows to
be true. Everything Jesus had said now makes sense. His
death and rising were all part of God’s plan, and our faith and
hope can be centered on God.
Today’s Gospel tells the story of Jesus’ walk to Emmaus
with two of the disciples. Frightened, sad and confused, the
two don’t recognize Jesus, who tells them what we heard Peter
say above: all this had to happen as part of God’s plan. In the
end, these disciples recognize Jesus as we are to recognize
him—in the breaking of the bread.
The second collection this week is for Diocesan Obligations.
Next weekend’s second collection is designated tor Higher
Utility & Energy Costs.

DIVINE MERCY DEVOTIONS
This is the first Sunday of May, therefore Devotion to the
Divine Mercy will be prayed at 3:00pm followed by Benediction. We are all in dire need of God’s goodness, love and
mercy. Please make a special effort to join us for this special
devotion asking our Lord for his graces in our lives.

MAY DEVOTIONS
May devotions will be held at 7:00pm on a daily basis and
on Sundays following 11:00am Mass.
Crowning of the Statue of the Blessed Mother will take place
at our Basilica on Monday, May 5 at 7:00pm with the participation of the children of the First Communion Class.
We request they come in their official attire to honor the
Blessed Mother and to dedicate their life to her motherly care.
All parishioners, parish organizations and ministries, Children
of Mary and altar servers are invited to participate. Please meet
in the school parking lot to process to church.
NOVENA AND DEVOTION TO ST. JOSEPH
Our weekly Wednesday Novena and Devotion to St. Joseph
will be held on May 7th at 7:00pm. We ask parishioners and
friends to join the St. Anne Sodality to honor our patron.
How many people of few words do you know? Yet they are
strong without boasting about their accomplishments because
their convictions and their deeds speak for themselves. These
traits exemplify our Patron who knew how to face life’s problems and tragedies with the strength that comes from faith in
God. Please join us to pray through the intercession of St. Joseph that we may all be secure in an insecure world.
You may write your individual intentions on the petition slips
available in the Chapel of Our Lady of Czestochowa.
HOME SCHOOL ASSOCIATION
The HSA is sponsoring a Bag2School Drive. Please place
into large bags any unwanted clothing-hats, belts purses, footwear (tied in pairs) stuffed toys, drapes and linens. Bags can be
dropped off at the school in the morning before Fri. May 9th.

PARTNERS IN CHARITY
We are continuing our Partners in Charity Appeal. Our current total of donations received is $17,740. If you have not as
yet made a gift to help various charitable, education and ministerial missions of our Diocese, now would be an appropriate

helping our parish to complete our campaign goal of $25,000.

MOTHER’S DAY
Next Sunday, May 11, is Mother’s Day. On this special day
Masses will be offered for mothers living and deceased and for
the intentions you submitted in your remembrance envelopes.
A mother plays a unique role in the life of her children. Let us
remember our mothers with a prayer on this day for the love
and sacrifices they made on our behalf.
MEETINGS
FESTIVAL MEETING - will be held on Wednesday, May
7th at 6:00pm at the rectory. Please note the earlier time—we
realize many of our parishioners are just coming home from
work, but there are many issues to be discussed and we would
appreciate your attendance even if you arrive a little later. We
ask parents of our school children to attend this meeting to
share their ideas and suggestions.
Knights of Columbus - next meeting on Wed., May 7th at
7:00pm in the school conference room.
St. Joseph Polish Women’s Club—Executive Board will
meet on Tues., May 6th in the school conference room

May 23 - Parent Appreciation Night at 6:00pm at PAV.
May 30-SJS Field day coordinated by our Physical Education teacher at the Lower Athletic Field beginning at 9:00am
until 11:00am followed by a picnic lunch on the school campus
provided by Clem Starosta and Chef Cindy. Classes will return
to the athletic field after lunch to continue their special activities. We invite parents and volunteers to join our students in
both sessions and for lunch.

CONFIRMATION
Young adults of our parish together with confirmands from
six other parishes from this region will be receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation on Thursday, May 15th at 7:00pm in
Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, East Main Street, Webster.
It is our hope that each person receiving the Sacrament of
Confirmation will welcome the gifts of the Holy Spirit and that
those to be confirmed will be witness to Our Lord throughout
their lives.
CEMETERY
For ages cemeteries have been considered Holy Ground where
the earthly remains of our deceased loved ones await resurrection day.
It is very upsetting and discouraging that some people, obviously not parishioners, are dumping household garbage, mattresses, lawn mowers, TV’s and other trash on our cemetery.
This is repulsive and cannot be tolerated. The Police Dept.
will be searching for evidence on these items and will bring
these devious and perhaps sick individuals to justice. The Police will also step up their daily patrols.
For this reason, the cemetery will be locked at dusk and
opened at dawn. I apologize for the inconvenience that some of
you will not be able to visit the grave of your loved ones early
in the morning or in the evening but I cannot permit this situation to continue.
I ask our parishioners to be vigilant and immediately report
any suspicious activity to the police.

“Catholic Camp” VBS.

June 23 - 27: “Camp Catholic” Vacation Bible School. The
VBS is for kids in gr. 1-5. Kids in gr. 6-12 are eligible to be

begins on July 14th and the performance will be held on Friday,

Dałeś mi poznać drogi życia
i napełnisz mnie radością przed obliczem Twoim. (Dz 2, 28)
ROSZPOZNAĆ JEZUSA
Piotr mówi do nas dzisiaj dwa razy. W
pierwszym czytaniu słyszymy fragment z
kazania w dniu Pięćdziesiątnicy; w drugim
fragment z jego pierwszego listu.
Przestraszony, niewykształcony rybak, który
często mówił coś nie tak, teraz daje świadecto
tego o czym jest przekonany, że jest prawdą. Wszystko, co
Jezus powiedział na teraz sens. Jego śmierć i
zmartwychwstanie były częścią Bożego planu, dzięi któremu
nasza wiara i nadzieja mogą być skoncentrowane na Bogu .
Dzisiejsza Ewangelia opowiada historię spotkania Jezusa z
dwoma uczniami w drodze do Emaus. Przestraszeni, smutni i
zdezorientowani, nie rozpoznają Jezusa, który mówi im, co
usłyszeliśmy w poprzednim czytaniu od Piotra: to wszystko
musiało się stać, jako cześć planu Bożego. Ostatecznie jednak
uczniowie poznają Jezusa, tak jak i my go rozpoznajemy: przy
łąmaniu chleba.
PIERWSZA KOMUNIA ŚWIĘTA
Z wielką radością, obchodzimy dziś w naszej parafii uroczystość Pierwszej Komunii Św. Następujące dzieci przystąpią
do Najświętszej Eucharystii po raz pierwszy: Gavin Abbott, Roksana Chruslicka, Natalie Rae Cierpich, Kyleigh Earley, Bianka

Dzisiejsza druga niedziela jest przeznaczona na Zobowiązania Djecezjalne.
Druga kolekta w przyszła niedzielę będzie przeznaczona na pokrycie kosztów utzrymania i energii.
KORONKA DO MIŁOSIERDZIA BOŻEGO
Dziś przypada pierwsza niedziela miesiąca maja, a zatem
tradycyjnie zapraszamy wszystkich parafian na Nabożeństwo
do Miłosierdzia Bożego na godzinę 15:00, które zakończy się
błogosławieństwem Najświętszym Sakramentem. Wszyscy
jesteśmy w potrzebie Bozej dobroci, miłości i miłosierdzia.
Proszę dołożyć szczególnych starań, aby dołączyć do wspólnej
modlitwy w czesie tego szczególnego nabożeństwa, prosząc
Pana o Jego łaski potrzebne w codziennym życiu.
NABOŻEŃSTWO MAJOWE
Począwszy od ubiegłego czwartku, spotykamy się codziennie,
wzorem lat ubiegłych, na Nabożęństwie Majowym.
Nabożeństwa odbywają się o godz. 19: 00, za wyjątkiem soboty
i niedzieli. W niedziele litania do Matki Bożej będzie
odmawiana po Mszy św. o godz. 11:00.
W poniedziałek, 5 maja o godzinie 19: 00 zapraszamy na
uroczyste Ukoronowanie figury Matki Bożej. W tej ceremonii
najważniejszą
rolę
odgrywają
dzieci
z
grupy
pierwszokomunijnej. Prosimy, aby były obecne swoich strojach
komunijnych. W czasie Nabożeństwa dzieci będą prosiły Matkę
Najświętszą o opiekę i wsparcie oraz poświęcały swoje życie,
aby jej macierzyńskiej opiece. Wszyscy parafianie, grupy
parafialne i organizacje są również zaproszone do wspólnej
modlitwy. Uczestników procesji na rozpoczęcie prosimy o
zgromadzenie się na parkingu szkolnym.
NOWENNA I NABOŻEŃSTWO DO ST. JOSEPH
Nasza cotygodniowa, środowa Nowenna i Nabożeństwo
do świętego Józefa odbędzie się w dniu 7 maja o 19:00.
Prosimy parafian i przyjaciół do przyłączenia się do St. Ann
Society we wspólnym oddawaniu czci naszemu świętemu
Patronowi.
Jak wielu wielkich ludzi istnieje, o których niewiele wiemy?
Są wielcy, lecz nie chlubią się swoimi osiągnięciami, ponieważ
ich dokonania i ich czyny mówią same za siebie. Cechy te są
przykładem naszego Patrona, który wiedział, jak stawić czoła
problemom życiowym i tragediom z siłą, która pochodzi z
wiary w Boga. Dołącz do nas, aby modlić się za
wstawiennictwem św. Józefa, i by dzięki opiece Bożej czuć się
bardziej bezpiecznym w niebezpiecznym świecie.
DZIEŃ MATKI
W najbliższą niedzielę, 11 maja przypada Dzień Matki.
W tym szczególnym dniu Msze św. będą sprawowane
w intencji żyjących i zmarłych matek, z godnie z prośbami
składanymi w specjalnej na tę okazję kopercie. Matka odgrywa
wyjątkową rolę w życiu swoich dzieci. Pamiętajmy w tym dniu
o modlitwach za nasze matki z wdzięcznością pamiętając ich
miłość i poświęcenie.
AUKCJA NA RZECZ SZKOŁY
HSA przypomina i zaprasza na aukcję na rzecz szkoły
św. Józefa, która odbędzie się 17 maja w PACC. Początek
spotkania o godz. 18: 00. Bilety wstępu: $20 od osoby lub $35
od pary. Kolacja rozpacznie się o godz. 18:30 a aukcja o godz.
20:00. Ci, którzy chcą ofiarować coś na aukcję proszeni są
o kontakt z Heidi (774 230 4300), lub z zarządem szkoły.
PARTNERS IN CHARITY
Wyrażamy ogromną wdzięczność wszystkim, którzy złożyli
już swoje wspaniałomyślne ofiary na tegoroczną akcję
charytatywną Partners In Charity. Nie zebraliśmy jeszcze
kwoty, o którą poprosiła nas Diecezja (do tej pory zebraliśmy
17,740 dolarów), dlatego ciągle zwracamy się z ogromna
prośbą do tych, którzy jeszcze nie przyłączyli się do tego
corocznego dzieła miłosierdzia by rozważyli możliwość

SPOTKANIE FESTIWALOWE
Komitet Festiwalowy spotyka się w środę, 7 maja o godzinie

BIERZMOWANIE
Młodzież z naszej parafii wraz z młodzieżą z sześciu
sąsiednich parafii przystąpi do Sakramentu Bierzmowania
w czwartek, 15 maja o godzinie 19: 00 w Kościele Sacred
Heart.
Módlmy się, aby wszyscy, którzy przyjmą ten Sakrament
otworzyli się na dary Ducha Świętego i stawali się
prawdziwymi świadkami Chrystusa.
FESTIWAL
Tegoroczny festiwal będziemy obchodzili w dniach od 13
do 15 czerwca.
Dziękujemy za zwrot kuponów na loterię pieniężną. W celu
zakupienia kuponów prosimy o kontakt z biurem parafialnym.
Następne spotkanie komitetu festiwalowego odbędzie się w
środę, 7 maja o godz. 18:00 na plebanii. Zapraszamy do udziału
wszystkich zainteresowanych i zaangażowanych w organizację
festiwali. Potrzebujemy Waszego wsparcia i kreatywności, aby

Coutry Store Booth prosi o donacje w postaci puszkowanej
żywności, rzeczy codziennego użytku itp. Specjalne kosze, do
których można składać datki będą znajdowały się przy

parafii w dniu 18 maja po Mszy św. o godz. 11:00. O godz.
16:00 zapraszamy na tradycyjny śpiew uroczystych
Nieszporów. Poniedziałek będzie dniem na prywatną adorację.
We wtorek na zakończenie adoracji uroczysta Msza św. o godz.
18:00 pod przewodnictwem kardynała Stanisława Dziwisza.
