The company produces components and sub-assemblies for the aerospace and medical industries to
exacting standards, in one of the most technologically advanced precision engineering factories in
Northern Ireland. The company has an established “world class ” reputation for quality reflected in a
portfolio of blue-chip customers including Martin-Baker, Goodrich Aerospace, Bombardier
Aerospace-Shorts, Airbus UK and Randox Laboratories. 62 years established 270 Members of Staff at

Opis stanowiska wraz z zakresem obowiązków
Main Duties:
1. Establish job requirements from drawings, production cards or job instruction sheets.
2. Select and load tools to machine (for CNC machine measure or pre-measure tools.)
3. Set tools and cutters on conventional machine, or set tool compensations on CNC machine.
4. Monitor established feeds and speeds and take appropriate action where necessary.
5. Machine one component and check that all parameters conform to drawing requirements. For an
unproven programme on CNC machines the setter/ operator will run the machine assisted by the
programmer/ASO and minor alterations will be input by the setter/operator Where alterations are more
than minor, the Supervisor/team leader will be consulted to determine the length of time for which the
machine can be released.
6. Submit component to quality surveyor for confirmation of acceptance where called for on production
card. Where no first off is called for the setter/operator will satisfy himself and his Supervisor/team leader
that the component is within drawing limits and arrange to continue to run the batch.. Quality surveyor
must also sign off the batch after completion.
In the case of an OSI setter operator, submission of a first off to the quality surveyor is not required. The

7. Maintain established time for job throughout batch.
8. Change/sharpen tools as necessary.
9. Debur components at the machine where cycle times permit.
10. Remove swarf, top up coolant, keep machine clean and tidy.
11. Ensure production and non-running times are recorded via the Data Collection System.
12. Always operate machine in a safe manner and wear appropriate protective clothing / equipment.
13. Engage in all forms of continuous improvement activity within the department as required.
14. Any other duties deemed necessary by the team leader / supervisor

Experience:
3 years post apprenticeship experience in the aerospace and/or medical industries.
Have been employed as setter-operators on CNC Milling and/or turning machines • Fanuc, Siemens 840c
and 840d controls
Qualifications:
Time served apprenticeship, Certificate of Craftsmanship.
NVQ Level III or equivalent experience.
Good knowledge of English.
MORI MAPPS conversational programming.
