Upon granting the second finance tranche by EU, the second stage of development and modernization of the transport infrastructure in Poland has started.
It appears desirable to draw up a report (conduct an audit)
on the technical condition of bridge structures constructed
over the last 15 years.
In order to properly use the second tranche of funds from
EU, it is essential to learn which technical solutions should
be promoted and which ones should be eliminated due to
their revealed shortcomings.
As within the last 15 years the designers have re-discovered the arch bridges and opportunities of creative shaping they offer, the Organizers have decided that this year’s
Seminar Wrocław Bridge Days be devoted to this subject.
The Seminar will cover the following topics:
• history of arch bridges;
• architecture of arch bridges and landmark structures;
• arch bridge designing: structural aspects and norm requirements;
• arch viaducts over motorways;
• application of arch structures in construction of wildlife
crossings;
• technology of arch bridges construction;
• application of new materials;
• monitoring, diagnosis and rehabilitation of arch bridges.
Seminar sessions will be preceded by a one-day WORKSHOP Anti-corrosion of steel and concrete that will take
place on Wednesday, 25 November 2015 in the Congress
Centre at the Wrocław University of Technology (building
D-20). Topics of the presented papers will be related to different aspects of anti-corrosive protection of steel and concrete bridge structures.
The lectures and discussions are addressed to everyone
interested in expanding their knowledge on new technologies – contractors specializing in bridge engineering, design companies, construction site supervisors, as well as
academic staff members and PhD students conducting research in the area of bridge engineering.
