OUTREACH PROGRAM
How Great Thou Art!! That is said from the
heart. Thank you one and all for your
fantabulous reply to our Christmas requests.
You truly are unbelievable. I came into the
Outreach building on Monday figuring I
would get any work that had fallen behind
over Thanksgiving cleared up so we would be
ready for the onslaught of gifts this weekend.
When I opened the door to Outreach, I was
flabbergasted. (I like that word!) The entire
reception room was packed with gifts that
overflowed into the hall that, in turn,
overflowed into two of the offices. Literally,
hundreds of beautifully wrapped gifts greeted
me. Thanks to all of you, Christmas 2013
will be very special to a lot of families who,
otherwise, would have had to do without.
From all the workers and clients of Outreach
we have just a few words: thank you,
gracias, dziekuje.
Love from Santa’s elves and God’s pawns.

approach to learning accident prevention skills.

Serdecznie prosimy Was o pomoc w osiągnięciu naszego
celu, jakim jest zebranie kwoty $550,000. Można złożyć

potrzebne i szczerze doceniane.
KURS BEZPIECZNEJ JAZDY - Jest to 6-godzinny wyłącznie teoretyczny kurs, przeprowadzany przez instruktorów dyplomowanych przez National Safety Council, oferujących kurs bezpiecznej bezwypadkowej jazdy samochodem. Otrzymają Państwo poradnik. Kurs jest przeznaczony
zarówno dla nowych jak i dla doświadczonych kierowców.
Ukończenie go uprawnia Państwa na trzy pełne lata do:
10%-owej zniżki - Collision and Liability Premiums
oraz / lub
do czterech punktów karnych odjętych
z konta kierowcy (driving record).
Kurs odbędzie się w naszej Parafii w sobotę 25 stycznia
2014, w sali pod kościołem, w godz: 8:30 - 15:00.
Koszt kursu wynosi $45 od osoby. Czeki prosimy wystawiać na naszą Parafię - OLA.
REJOICE IN THE LORD ALWAYS!
Traditionally, today was referred to as Gaudete
Sunday, from the Latin word with which the entrance
antiphon for the Mass begins. If, during last week, we took
the words of John the Baptist seriously and repented of our
sins, today we can join with Isaiah and “rejoice with joyful
song”. If you wish to get into the true spirit of rejoicing, reread today’s first reading from Isaiah (35: 1-6, 10).
And as the gifts are prepared, please join in with your
whole heart as we sing “Rejoice, Rejoice, Emmanuel shall
come to you, O Israel!”(#20)
Also, in today’s second reading, we have St. James
urging us to be patient “until the coming of the Lord”.
Again, this reading merits a second look as James outlines
some very practical ways of practicing patience. This
could be of great assistance in theses busy days.
Finally, in today’s Gospel, we find John now in
prison. John sends his disciples to ask Jesus “Are you the
one? . . .” And Jesus answers “. . . Blessed is the one who
takes no offense at me”.
Yes, Jesus is the one we are waiting for, but also the
one we already have! Advent recalls the waiting of the
prophets and the whole people of God for the coming of
the Redeemer. But being blessed to live in the fullness of
time, we have Jesus really and truly present with us at
each Eucharist, and also living within us at each moment
as we continue to live out our own journey to the Father.
REJOICE IN THE MYSTERY!
