On Wednesdays of Advent we are going to have an
exposition and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
from 4:30pm to 8pm.
We know it is a very busy time of the year when
everybody is rushing while shopping, preparing gifts
and goodies for Christmas. We are so preoccupied
that we tend to forget what is this all about – the
Birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. We invite you to
prepare your souls through prayer and acts of
charity. Without Jesus everything is fluff. Silence and
prayer in front of the Blessed Sacrament is the best
opportunity to prepare ourselves spiritually for the
upcoming Christmas.

FLOWER COLLECTION
Next week, there will be a second collection for our
Christmas Flowers. A Flower Collection envelope
was included with your regular collection envelopes
received in the mail. For the past few years, many of
you have made good use of this change and for that
reason our Ladies of the Rosary Society will not be
at the doors after Masses. If you did not receive an
envelope, please feel free to drop your donation in
the collection basket during Mass. Thank you.

NATIONAL NIGHT OF PRAYER FOR LIFE
We still need interested parishioners from our
community of faith to join us in our prayer service
for the National Night of Prayer for Life scheduled
for Sunday, December 8th from 9PM through
December 9th at 1AM in the Church. The main issue
is to see that Jesus is not alone at any time during
these four hours of devotion. This weekend, you
will find sign-up sheets in the rear of the Church and
Auditorium, which cover the four hours separately,
They are in half hour increments but you are invited
to stay as long as you are able to. Find out which one
is suited for you and sign up today. Please try to
spend some time thanking Jesus for all our blessings.

OUTREACH PROGRAM
We want to thank you for your awesome response to
our request for food for Thanksgiving. We were able
to give complete Turkey dinners to more people than
we anticipated.
You, I hope, have noticed the trees sporting the gift
ornaments in the Church and Auditorium today. Each
ornament contains the name of the recipient along with
a number. Some ornaments give you a choice of gift
to purchase and others – the ones for the seniors and
handicapped of the parish – simply have one item on
them. We thank you for taking one; you will add to
the joy of Christmas day for someone.
Please return the gifts no later than December 15th. It
is necessary to stress the need for you to return the
gift with the ornament securely attached in order for
us to deliver it to the correct person. We also ask that,
if possible, you wrap the gift. We will have volunteers
to wrap gifts at the Outreach but many of you prefer
to do it yourselves and we very much appreciate that.
If you have any questions or problems, please call the
Outreach and ask to talk to Pat. The number here is
842-5264 and we are open on Tuesday and Thursday
from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

VIGILIA NACIONAL POR LA VIDA
Aún estamos necesitando parroquianos interesados en
acompañarnos en nuestro servicio de “Vigilia Nacional
de Oración por la Vida”. Esta actividad está
programada para el Domingo 8 de Diciembre a las
9:00PM y continuando hasta la 1:00AM del día Lunes
9 de Diciembre, en la Iglesia. El asunto principal es
ver que Jesús Sacramentado no esté solo en ningún
momento durante esas cuatro horas de devoción.
Este fin de semana encontrarán hojas de registro en
la parte trasera del Auditorio y de la Iglesia. Estas
hojas están separadas en horas. Ustedes eligen la
hora en que pueden estar presentes, ya sea por treinta
minutos o una hora. Por favor, dedique un poco de
su tiempo acompañándo y agradeciendo a Jesús por
las múltiples bendiciones que nos ha otorgado.
PROGRAMA DEL OUTREACH
Estamos profundamente agradecidos por su
respuesta a nuesta solicitud de comestibles para las
Canastas del Día de Acción de Gracias.
Ya habrán notado los Arboles Navideños, en la Iglesia
y el Auditorio, con los ADORNOS/ETIQUETAS que
contienen los nombres de algunos de los niños
participantes en nuestro programa.
También
encontrarán etiquetas indicando un regalo para
adulto (estos son ancianos o minusválidos). Les
pedimos que si es posible envuelvan los artículos en
papel de regalo, y no olviden pegarle la etiqueta. De
otro modo no sabremos a quien le corresponde el
regalo. Apreciaremos que traigan sus regalos A MAS
TARDAR EL 15 DE DICIEMBRE. De esta manera
estarán listos para ser entregados el Jueves 19 de

W ten weekend w kościele i audytorium zostały wystawione drzewka przyozdobione ornamentami zawierającymi
prośby o paczki na święta dla osób potrzebujących z naszej parafii. Każdy ornament zawiera imię i nazwisko oraz
numer telefonu osoby, do której ma trafić nasza paczka, a
także życzenie jaki ma to być prezent. Z listy należy wybrać jedną rzecz. Zaangażujmy się w tę akcję. Wasz dar
może sprawić komuś wielką radość na Boże Narodzenie.
Pamiętajmy, aby do ofiarowanego prezentu dołączyć
ornament z drzewka; dzięki temu będziemy mogli dostarczyć prezent właściwej osobie. W przypadku jakichkolwiek

Jest to 6-godzinny wyłącznie teoretyczny kurs, przeprowadzany przez instruktorów dyplomowanych przez
National Safety Council, oferujących kurs bezpiecznej
bezwypadkowej jazdy samochodem. Otrzymają Państwo
poradnik. Kurs jest przeznaczony zarówno dla nowych jak
i dla doświadczonych kierowców. Ukończenie go uprawnia Państwa na trzy pełne lata do:

do czterech punktów karnych odjętych
z konta kierowcy (driving record).

“FOR OUR SALVATION IS NEARER NOW
THAN WHEN WE FIRST BELIEVED”
As we begin again the Season of Advent, we join
with the prophets in looking forward to the coming of the
Messiah. This week we hear Isaiah inviting us “Come, let
us climb the Lord’s mountain . . . that he may instruct us in
his ways, and we may walk in his paths.”
Unlike Lent, Advent is meant to be a peaceful time of
hope and longing. This is a tall order amid the hustle and
bustle that accompanies our gift shopping, home
decorating, and food preparations. But maybe we can
make a small inroad into the secular celebration of
Christmas by looking at these distractions as works of love
in preparation for the coming of the Christ Child. Choose
gifts that may make someone a better person. (That would
immediately rule out all violent toys.) Prepare each food
dish with the same love with which Jesus gives himself to
us in the Eucharist.
Instead of planning to make New Year’s resolutions,
make an Advent resolution of a specific way to be closer to
Jesus at the end of this new Church year. And then try
with all your might to keep that resolution.
In the spirit of keeping the true meaning of Christmas
before our minds and hearts, the Choir and Leaders of
Song will be offering an evening of beautiful Christmas
music on Friday, December 6th. We invite you and your
entire family to come to the auditorium at 8:00 PM. We
promise to lift your spirits!
