Lenten Reflection Evenings – “Priest, Prophet, King”
Thursdays, beginning February 12th from 7:00 to 9:00
pm for 6 weeks at Chancery Office, 700 King St. W.,
Hamilton. Through this presentation of Priest,
Prophet, King, you will better understand Jesus,
become more familiar with Scripture, and realize your
own priestly, prophetic, and kingly mission. Using
biblical insights and engaging stories, we come to see
Jesus more clearly through the lens of the Old

Mass on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at the Cathedral of
Christ the King at 1:30 pm. (Space allows room for
Anniversary couples only - those married 60 years or

World Meeting of Families
Pope Francis to attend World Meeting of Families in
Philadelphia – The Diocese of Hamilton is planning a
trip to the World Meeting of Families, departing
September 22, 2015 and returning September 28, 2015
– both Bishop Crosby and Bishop Miehm will be
attending. The World Meeting is designed to be
significant to people of all ages at all stages of life.
Every keynote address and workshop will be based on
the concepts of marriage, family and relationship. This
is a family event with workshop streams for those 18
and older, 6 – 12 years and day care for those 5 and
younger. The first 100 people to register for the
Hamilton Diocesan trip will have both their
registration and transportation (by bus) paid by the
Diocese, leaving only the cost of hotel and food. For

Monday, February 2nd – Presentation of the Lord World Day of Prayer for Consecrated Life
In 1997, St. Pope John Paul II declared
February 2nd - the Feast of the Presentation of
the Lord, to be observed as World Day for
Consecrated Life. This day the whole Church prays
for all consecrated persons who have chosen to follow
Christ thru the vows of poverty, chastity and
obedience. Let us keep them in our prayers.

On Tuesday, February 3rd occurs the feast of St.
Blaise, Bishop and Martyr. Blessing of the throats
will take place after each Mass on Saturday and
Sunday, January 31st and February 1st and again on
Tuesday, February 3rd.

Święto Ofiarowania Pańskiego - 2 lutego
Światowy Dzień Życia Konsekrowanego
Kościół Katolicki w dzień 2 lutego obchodzi
Uroczystość Ofiarowania Pańskiego. W tym dniu
naszą uwagę koncentrujemy na Osobie Jezusa
Chrystusa, który jest „światłością świata” i „światłem
na oświecenie pogan” jak nazwał go starzec Symeon.
Głównym więc tematem tego święta przewijającym się
przez całą liturgię, włącznie z poświęceniem gromnic,
jest światło. W tradycji polskiej święto to nazywane
było, i przez wielu jest nadal, świętem Matki Bożej
Gromnicznej. Wierni w tym dniu przynoszą do
kościoła świece do poświęcenia. Zapaloną gromnicę
starano się zanieść do domu, by od niej rozpalić ogień,
który zwiastować miał zgodę i miłość w rodzinie. W
Kościele Katolickim w Święto Ofiarowania Pańskiego
2 lutego jest obchodzony również Dzień Życia
Konsekrowanego. Zakonnice i zakonnicy, mniszki i
mnisi, pustelnicy i świeccy konsekrowani, dziewice
poświęcone Bogu i wdowy konsekrowane – wszyscy
oni należą do jednej rodziny osób prowadzących życie
konsekrowane, którego istota polega na naśladowaniu
Chrystusa poprzez zachowywanie ślubów czystości,
ubóstwa i posłuszeństwa. Święcenie świec podczas
każdej Mszy św. w sobotę 31 stycznia i niedzielę 1
lutego.

Douglas Crosby będzie celebrował uroczystą Mszę św.
w Katedrze Chrystusa Króla w Hamilton o godz. 1:30
po południu dla jubilatów, którzy w tym roku
obchodzą 25-tą, 40-tą, 50-tą, 60-tą, 70-tą (i więcej)
rocznicę ślubu. Ze względu na ograniczoną ilość
miejsc, pary obchodzące 60-tą rocznicę lub następne,
mogą zaprosić tylko jedną osobę z rodziny. Aby
potwierdzić swoje uczestnictwo we Mszy św. należy
wypełnić kartę rejestracyjną, która znajduje się z tyłu
kościoła. Zgłoszenia tylko do 5 maja br.
