Recently the Archdiocese of Chicago invited St.Thecla School to join a process to form a regional Catholic school. We declined the idea as we continue to grow our school and assure that the great 90 year parish tradition will continue for many years to come. Please contact us to schedule a tour during school hours so you can see the difference a Catholic Education at St. Thecla makes in a child's life. We warmly welcome you to be a Thecla family. God bless and looking forward to meeting you. Fr. Gene Dyer, Pastor and Mr. Dan Gargano, Principal. For the last three weeks students have been working diligently to learn all about dinosaurs in our pre-historic thematic unit. They read books, solved math problems and completed science experiments that were all related to dinosaurs. Kindergarteners learned what it is like to be a paleontologist as they used tools to excavate fossils out of fossil rocks. Students develop the joy for learning in experiments with fossil, dinosaur bones, and volcano models. To show off their DINO-mite work students displayed pictures of their favorite dinosaur experiments on a large prehistoric mural in their classroom. With all their outstanding work and accomplishments I am certain they will be ready and prepared to stomp into their last trimester of Kindergarten. -Miss Toro, Kindergarten Teacher 7 Nasza Wiara Polski Dystrykt AA-tel 312-458-0625 www.polskieaachicago.com Leczenie uzaleznien: Zrzeszenie Polsko-Amerykanskie-773-282-8206- Ola-wewnetrzny 346, Piotr –wewnetrzny 347. It is a pledge campaign where you can make a gift payable in installments. As you review the work enabled by your contribution to the Annual Catholic Appeal, please reflect on God’s gifts to you. He has given you all that you have. With these gifts, you are entrusted with responsibility. Your gifts to our parish, to the Archdiocese and to the work of the Church throughout the world should be given in gratitude for the continuing gifts that God gives you. Each pledge makes a difference because all parishes participate in the campaign and the gifts of many enable our Archdiocese to deliver needed ministries and services. Our combined gifts not only signify our gratitude to God, they fund a significant portion of the work of our Archdiocese. After our parish goal of $35,827.08 is reached in cash, 100% of any additional funds come back to our parish to help to fund our needs. While this goal will is assigned to us this year, rest assured that there is no responsibility to fulfill this goal during the first year (active phase) of the To Teach Who Christ Is Campaign which St. Thecla will participate in this coming July 2015. Papież Franciszek wzywa nas do udziału w Festiwalu Przebaczenia 27 i 28 lutego 2015 Pope Francis has described his vision of the Church as a field hospital in the middle of a terribly wounded world. The Church herself is populated by wounded and sinful members, but by God’s grace she still serves as an instrument of healing and forgiving mercy. During Lent 2015, the Church in the Archdiocese of Chicago wants to bring the medicine of mercy not only to the Catholic faithful but also to anyone who stands in need of healing and forgiveness. Second Weekend in Lent Across two days (Friday, February 27 and Saturday, February 28), the Church in Chicago will offer special opportunities for the celebration of the Sacrament of Penance and for prayers of healing. The Catholic faithful, especially those who have been away from the sacraments, are urgently invited to come and share in God’s mercy. That second weekend of Lent, Paul’s letter to the Romans will be read at every Mass. And we, the Church, will proclaim and embrace his words: “If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:11) Everyone is Invited Every human being lives with elements of brokenness. Every human soul knows its fragility. In Chicago, we are more aware than ever of the wounds inflicted on our city and its people by violence, gangs, drugs, domestic abuse, child neglect, economic injustice, and a spirit of mistrust among people of different races, cultures, languages, and ways of life. The city begs for the mercy of God and for healing. And the Catholic Church in Chicago wants to be a field hospital where all people can find the medicine of God’s mercy. Encounter God’s Mercy This focused time to encounter the mercy of God in our lives is inspired by Pope Francis who called the Church in Rome to a “Festival of Forgiveness,” an annual Lenten observance to embrace God’s mercy. In the Archdiocese of Chicago, we join our Holy Father and local churches throughout the world in their observance of this graced opportunity. Drugi weekend w Wielkim Poście W ciągu dwóch dni (w piątek, 27 lutego i w sobotę, 28 lutego), Kościół w Chicago oferuje specjalną możliwości celebracji sakramentu pokuty i modlitwy o uzdrowienie. Z tej okazji Archidiecezja Chicago w łączności z Ojcem Świętym oraz Kościołami lokalnymi na całym świecie również chce uczestniczy w świętowaniu nieskończonego Miłosierdzia Bożego Churches in our area where priests will gather to hear confessions on Feb. 27th 12noon to 12 noon on Feb. 28th St. Paul of the Cross (English) 320 South Washington Street Park Ridge St. John Brebeuf (English and Polish) 8307 North Harlem Avenue Niles General information Baptisms: Please contact the Parish Office to arrange a Baptism.
